Paint? Tar? fly poop?

Do you know what it is?

How long or how many times have you clayed over the same black spot?
Had an experience or several experiences in a body shop where a painter accidentally sprayed a car nearby and I had
to clay out the spots. Took me 20, 30 times back and forth and about 1/2 hour or longer to get a small area cleaned up.

Try to go longer and more aggressive with lube till it is gone.

Let us know what happens.

It looks like paint for sure

I may have not done the clay in a longer period. Will try to be more aggressive with it.

thanks!

I get little palm tree drippings on my cars that look like that, clay won't touch it, polishing won't touch it. I just use my thumbnail to break it loose. Maybe a credit card or a plastic razor blade? Just in the targeted area.

I used my thumbnail but it wouldnt budge. Didn't wanna cause any paint damage

Which clay bar did you try on it?

I used Meguiars. Could I use something better?

The Meguiars clay should work ok if it's paint overspray. Just use plenty of lube and go back and forth over it smoothly while applying just the right amount of passion to it, concentrating on the spots getting removed.

Ditto what Eldo said. Keep at it till it's gone---gonna take a bit of time, really!

What's the update?

I just finished not too long ago but whew... didn't know it would take that much elbow grease. I did the whole driver side of the car cause it was everywhere, But I was able to remove it all.

Glad to hear that you were able to remove it.. A med. grade Nanoskin Mitt would've made it much faster.

VISITOR: THANK you for reminder on PLASTIC razor blades. We were just evaluating paint nibs last night at TNOG, and rec was for him to razor blade. We forgot to emphasize plastic. Just sent him a text with urgency. He's on it.

Congrats! Margarita time now!

I just did a truck for this lady and used my license.

A little late I know, but from the pic it looks like Artillery Mold Spores, or Artillery Fungus. It's an interesting read if you Google them. Seems they are most predominant in mulch that you find beside your house or driveway.
We start by spraying a degreaser on the effected area. Let it dwell for 5 min or so. While washing the car a top scab can easily be removed with your fingernail. The remaining mark is the more difficult to remove depending on how recently the car had been waxed and how long the fungus had been attached. As several have said, the fingernail or a plastic blade can be your best process. It becomes much easier after the spore scab is removed and the remaining spot softens up.

Just got done applying WGDGPS

Did you remove it by just claying it after all? I have the same problem on my car and took a while to finish off the passenger side.
