Is that 6.5 hp vac the Ridgid that looks like this?

If so I can tell you it's a good vac. IMO for my needs and the way I use it it's a great vac... It's big, meaning it can handle the big jobs without needing to constantly clean it out [I keep my vac clean, but it doesn't absolutely Need to be cleaned after just 1 big job]
The filter is larger than the smaller also popular 5hp. more portable Ridgid vac.
Many many attachments can be used with this vac including the full size and full power 2.5" attachments which give you a "car wash" power type of feel when you use it.
When it comes time to vacuum some extra large stuff [such as a years worth of tree debris from under the hood of a car, you can do it without worries of the 2.5" hose getting clogged.

For some people it's a tad too big, but as long as you're ok with that part you'll be glad it is. But if you're debating about whether it's too big than maybe the smaller 1 is more your style.

If you decide on this 1, message me and I'll tell you which attachments are must have for it and which ones suck. I've tried pretty much every one that's available for it.

I use a wall-mount canister style Shop Vac Brand Unit with 26ft of hose on it. Could use a tad more power but it will vacuum up chicken nugget sized stuff so that works for me :) I just like the fact that it's off the floor, in a corner and allows me to vacuum both cars in-place and even my garage floor without moving a thing but the hose.

Shop vac 6hp with the reduction hose for more pulling power

Been using the below vacuum
for over 25 years. And, at this
stage of the game: it'll probably
outlast me...

Sears Craftsman
8 gal. Wet/Dry Vac
2.25 (peak) H.P.

That doesn't result in more suction power. This has been discussed on this forum before and even confirmed by Ridgid customer service.

It results in Less suction power.
