Weather Tech Floorliner Cleaner and Protector?

I'll do my best to get something tonight (with post tomorrow). Just received my cleaner and protector yesterday, and borrowed a cruddy WT matt last night
I am looking forward to your thoughts on the combo.

Me too! My friend more, though. He's never cleaned them.

Tell you one thing right off: I am liking the bottles. Long neck, and square footprint. They feel sort of compact, but hold 18oz

Since those meds are pretty dirty don't be afraid to use a lot of the cleaner and let it soak in a little bit before you scrub them. By the way did you buy the combo that comes with the three microfibers and the brush as well?

Klasse Act,

I saw a video in which they let the cleaner dwell for like 5 min. I'll do similar.

I thought about the KIT, I really did, but in the end, i decided against it to save a few bucks. Plenty of towels at home, including many new black ones. For the brush, I'll use a cleaned tire brush.

Just my opinion, but I'd rather not pay significantly more money for a dedicated/specialized "works-with" product when I'd be willing to bet 98% of the people here already have products that will do just as good of a job if not better on the mats. For me, any APC/tire cleaner (I have on hand) diluted properly does the job. As for dressings, that's personal preference as some leave the mats slicker than others but Megs X-Press does wonders.

I used to use Optimum power clean to clean my mats after every winter driving season for the past 3 years. In that time they were "clean" afterwards but always a stain left where I put my feet, couldn't get it out. After the 1st cleaning with the WT cleaner it was gone! Then I used their protectant and they became brand new again. I tested the finish to see if it were slippery and it was NOT, even did 2 coats.

In closing I too was skeptical about this product but whatever they produced to clean their own mats properly was spot on, these mats aren't cheap and I for one appreciate this combo...don't knock it till you try it, I'm sure they'll give you your money back if not happy.

Honestly, I don't doubt that it works and I wasn't really knocking it for that matter. Again as a matter of opinion, I just can't justify the increased cost for additional products that I can get the same results using those I (and most people) already have. My car is a 2014 and after 3 years myself, I've personally never had any stains that I wasn't able to get out. Thats coming from someone who uses their vehicle as a DD in the Northeast, worked on drilling rigs, and has gotten their fair share of grease, oil, mud, salt, etc on said mats.

The products worked well, so far.

I used Opti Power Clean (straight) on one side, and WT Cleaner on the other. Both clean, but I preferred the WT. The foam helps keep the product where I want it. Power Clean seemed to require more agitation.

I'm not sure I used enough of the protection stuff. I couldn't really see a difference after applying it. No slickness was felt. This was under poor lighting conditions and will look at it again in daylight. Also, i was letting it dry overnight.

So far, I don't regret the purchase. I'll be doing a more in-depth review in the upcoming week.

I would like to suggest a second application of the protectant to those mats

so finally made time for this last night.

Sprayed the protection on heavy, covered all the surface. And walked away.

I looked at it this morning. Looks about the same. I'm giving it back to my friend tonight. Will follow up to see how it holds up. I *may* get his other mat today. We'll see.

Did you not even scrub the product in and rinse it off right away?

I bought the protector for use on factory black rubber mats and would not use it again on rubber.. Did not make the rubber darker. Trim Shine knocked down after drying to remove the slickness works great and makes the rubber black. Weather Tech might work better on vinyl or plastic mats.

The protection? Yeah I scrubbed it in with a damp applicator, as per the instructions. Was I supposed to rinse it off? I don't recall seeing that. I need to lay off the late night "detailing"

I thought you were talking about the cleaner but I actually wiped the protectent in, twice.

50/50? Which side is which? Or does it even matter? They both look similar.

the 50/50 line would be center, from left to right.

Does it matter? Final results: no. Process: yes. I found the foaming action of the WeatherTech to be useful. Also, the OPT side required a bit more agitation to get the same level of clean

I see the line... I want to know which side each cleaner was used on.
