Wash and wax on a hot day

Does the paint have to be dry completely without water streaks?

Right you are gents. I've been amazed in January when it it is 60 degrees out with only 10% humidity and how I still have to spray a conditioner on the pad each time I put HD speed on the pad before each pass. It's definitely not as bad then but already around 100 a week ago it was pretty rough. I don't even know if it is going to be possible in direct sunlight when it is 110-120. I'm still trying to get the money together to get an EZ Up for this very reason. Not everyone has a garage I can use. People here love to use their garages as storage units. They'll park their 40k+ cars outside rather than get a storage unit ha!

Glad your move went well by the way mate. You're getting to experience some beautiful weather right now before the furnace descends on the valley.

Which one? Walmart has 1 for 35 bucks idk how good it is

If you work in small sections pretty much anything will work.The only product that gives me trouble is collinite products when its blazing hot.mckees line works nice out doors and there coating as well as csl and optigloss.
 
D120 glass cleaner is a must for hot days.The only glass cleaner is stoners at 3.54 a can it can get pricey.

I can't remember if I looked at that one in particular or not, but the reviews on the cheap ones across the board have been pretty bad. They all basically state that if a slight wind kicks up, they tear easily and the frame bends. We don't have a ton of wind here but when we do get it, we have violent sudden gusts and I need something very sturdy.

EZ up seems to have the best reviews out of everything I looked at but the 10x10 is a little over $100 and the 12x12 is around $140. It's one of things I need but can live without for another month or two until it gets really warm here. I can handle the heat, but as someone stated earlier on, when the paint gets too hot to touch, detailing becomes nigh on impossible.

One thing to consider about AZ is wind... Just these past several days we've had strong 30mph constant winds, not gusts... I'm talking sustained. I have an Ozark 10x10 and an Ozark 10x20 and I'd be afraid to stand them up with that kind of wind...

Yes, I couldn't agree with you more. I'm mobile here in AZ and I detail all year round...and let me tell you it has been windy every single day since March. Winds hit 15 to 30mph starting at noon. There's no way I would set up a canopy. The winds will move it and damage the car. I just slather on some sun block, drink plenty of water, work in small sections at a time, and use sun friendly products. By no means is it easy. It takes a lot of skill to detail a car, and even more skill detailing a car in direct sunlight with scorching heat.

Just out of curiosity, Max, what are your favorite sun friendly products? I love sharing success stories and tips with other Arizona detailers as I think we have a very unique environment and what works for others doesn't always work for us.
