Help with awful sport seating?

Anytime I get questions via e-mail, a PM or a FB message I prefer to invest my typing time where

A: It's easier for me to share links, pictures and videos.

B: More people can read and thus benefit from the information. (no just one set of eyeballs

So I get an e-mail asking,

Hi Mike,

I just started a mobile detailing business and I'm seeing quite a few of vehicles with that awful sport seating and I'm having trouble getting them clean, I've tried a steamer, tornador, and hot water extractor.

I checked the AG forums and didn't really find much.

I know you have allot on your plate so your time is very much appreciated.

Thanks

Here's my reply,

By “sport seating” do you mean Alcantara or fake suede?

Here's his reply to my reply...

Not really sure I see it all the time in Ford/ Mazda and Chrysler vehicles, it's a very tight woven material with no fibers that stand up at all.

Love your books by the way.

My only guess is he's talking about Alcantara or some type of material LIKE ALCANTARA and if this is the case, then the BEST product to get to work on this type of material and to protect yourself from screwing up someone else's car is

SONAX Upholstery & Alcantara Cleaner 250 ml

It's 100 percent safe.

In fact, in all my detailing classes I strongly recommend ANYONE detailing for money to get this product and have it in their arsenal so when a car comes in with this type of material you're ready to go because you cannot find this at your local auto parts store.

Hope this helps...

•I always like to apply a protectant to/on
this material once it has been cleaned.
-(I currently use the one from Leather
Master's brand.)

•IMO: It'd be nice to be able to stay
within the Sonax line-up.
-Does Sonax have a protectant for
Alcantara, Microsuede, Nubuck, etc.?

Read the description and watched the video and unless I missed it, no where did I see that Sonax Upholstery & Alcantara Cleaner protects.
