alright .. so this is something that I am not real sure about. So I have done some cars where I spray cleaner on the panels and then scrub ... it turns out fine, BUT on the SAME panel I can spray it miss a drip for a few seconds and it will discolor it a lighter color. I dont understand this. How can it be fine with the spray and scrub but not with a drip that has not been there long and not dried out??
I first did this with Meguiars super degreaser diluted to I believe 20:1 on black interior ... screwed that up pretty good on the panel. I know it was that.
But the other car I was using Griots Interior Cleaner which i figured would have been much safer than the super degreaser!
Is there something that people do to avoid that? I mean when I spray and scrub I would think its ok ... but then I wipe up a drip and its a lighter color on the same panel.
I am getting Meguiars APC Monday that I have been waiting over two months to get ... now I am a little worried about using that stuff too.
is there something that I am missing that I need to look out for like the age of the car? a coating that has come off or something ... this was a 2002 volvo and a 1997 sunfire.
However on my 2015 accord EXL Its fine .. no issue at all.. same with my daughters black 2011 Honda Civic and my dads 2014 Honda Accord.
Is it that this stuff isnt PH balanced .. if its not .. I really dont have any idea.
is there anything else to use that will NOT cause the white faded look on these vinyl parts?
last thing and this is important when this happends is there any way to remove it without dying it? Like I was afraid to go back over it again in fear of making it worse .. maybe make a second pass over it? or something else?
any suggestions would be great... thank you!
