Hello! Well! First of all, I blame PaulMys for this, entirely. It's all his fault. Blame him for me being here.
okay, no, that's not entirely fair, but that was a big motivator! I've been ordering from Autogeek, and then decided it would be best to dive into the forum as well.
My name is Kelsey, I am 22 years old, if you must know. I started out as a detailing enthusiast, and then bang. I was hooked.
I'd always been taught to wash and wax your vehicle, you have to take care of it for it to last. I've always had that base. But I knew there was more!
It started with my bright Silver 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. I learned of a world of Clay Bars, Headlight restorations, sealants and polishes. I worked as a
detailer at a Mechanic's shop for about a year, but he was not providing enough work, and he was also taking huge cuts out of my pay as well. I went
back to working as a hobby detailer and honed my skills further while I was looking for a job.
I'm now working at a dealership franchise that has Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Buick, GMC and Chevrolet. I started as a detailer there
(I know, I know, ew, dealership detailers.)
Hear me out. There are some out there that do good work!
We exist.
We are not the horror story variety of "My dealership swirled the Sh!t out of my car!" :buffing:
We would sooner break our fingers than damage the many cars that we work with.
Anyway, I am now basically in charge of the used car section, meaning I make sure they've been put through service and are cleaned properly.
I will be the first to admit that I have much to learn, however, I am still confident with the knowledge base I have currently. I now have a small
fleet of cars and a motorcycle that I still enjoy working on (2006 Chrysler 300, 2006 Dodge Ram 1500, the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 and a 2002
Honda Shadow) among others.
I love learning about new products and hearing about other people's experiences and knowledge.
I truly hope for the chance to learn and share knowledge here, thanks for reading.
Take care!
Kelsey
