I believe they are paying for quality work. I would never just glaze a vehicle then wax/sealant. The vehicle never leaves without correct paint correction.

Justin..I totally agree with you. The customers want end results and don't care what you use to get them. My opinion is that if you use products that last a long time, you will go a long way to ensure repeat business vs. the other guy who's stuff vanishes after a wash or 2.

Funny, I see stuff like that all the time here!

I know, but as a Red Sox / Patriots fans we are use to not going all the way, we are just very loyal fans. Thank goodness for Tom Brady is all I got to say!
And yes, sorry this was :offtopic: , please forgive!:o

You mean you're not a 'phins fan, there's so much to cheer for this season

Let's see if the Pats can stop the 1972 'phins from opening the champagne this year, good possibility.

I do not do paint correction on every vehicle and I sure as heck don't use anything to hide defects with. I just lowered my prices by 50.00 and now I do 3, 150.00 jobs per day instead of one 200.00 6 hour job.

Must be doing something right since I clean 90% of my customer's vehicles every 2 weeks.

I would think that a majority of customers do not really care about having swirls removed, maybe a deep scratch here and there but most of the time too deep. They mostly just care that the car is clean and properly protected. I have decided that if someone wants the swirls and buffer trails removed they should be willing to pay for the extra time, but they are rewarded with how the vehicle looks afterward. But some polish w/cleaners do a nice job of knocking some swirls out or at least rounding them out. U know you have to do what the customer is willing to pay for. But I think glazing or filling without full correction is definately not the way as it leaves a false impression to the customer.

For the longest time I tried to figure out how you got your "detailing" done so fast. Then I realized all you use is AIO products. Its not about getting the job done fast, its about quality. But for you, its all about quantity. Thats not detailing my friend.

P.S. XMT 360 which you use on pretty much all your details, is primarily FILLERS.

Now lets see how fast this thread gets closed since the great Justin is being called out.

I don't get it?? Where did the flame throwing come from..... If I remember correctly thats the purpose of AIO's, to get the look of a 3-step or 8-hour detail for less $$$$ and time. If my prices were set @ $300 for a 3-step I wouldn't get any buisness, so you have to market your own area. I guess he found his niche, and went for what customers were after $150 details that look great and probably still hasn't had a complaint nor does the customer care..

If I recall this detail was pretty much a in depth detail from Justin - http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/4001-detailed-2003-jaguar-x-type.html

D&D just because I'm not taking 2 days to do a detail doesn't mean I'm not detailing. Why would I go through all the trouble of full paint correction if the customer is not willing to pay for it. Dude, lets face it if the customer truly cared about the paint and wanted it flawless they wouldn't bring it to me in the crappy shape that they do. As long as you don't pass off using an AIO as full paint correction what's wrong with it?

90% of the people who bring me their vehicles all swirled up would have them looking like that again even if I did full paint correction, because they don't take care of the vehicles like they should. Ride around town on a Saturday and see how many people are washing with a two bucket system bet you don't find many. And furthermore look at the lines at the local car wash with those nasty brushes. See the small percentage of people that would take care of the car after full paint correction are willing to pay for it because they know it will be maintained that way.

So don't hate on me because I use 360 and a premium sealant on a car and the customer does everything but do backflips down my driveway because they are so happy. Like richy said if you use good products that give great protection that's all most customers want. Just because we don't "detail" like you doesn't mean it's wrong, hell to each his own. Taking the time to do full paint correction for someone not willing to pay for it is poor decision making in my opinion, but I've never called anyone out for it, like I said to each his own.

:offtopic: I would have a hard time defending someone that seems less than honest especially with his foam cannon venture.
