Chemical Guys New Car Scent. Similar products?

Hello forum I have been using Chemical Guys New Car Smell now for about 2 years. I like it and the customers seem to like it, I have had compliments about it never a complaint. The last gallon I ordered was on amazon for $25 now it's $49.99 so I figured I would ask if there is anything on the market similar to this product, available in a gallon. I feel like they raised the price on the gallon or something but I'm having a hard time paying $50 for that product.

I looked on Amazon and it didn't show anyone selling it in a gallon container. Which brings up the possibility that you caught the price at a point of low supply (or Amazon sold out and and it showed a third party sellers price).

Either way, a couple points that might be relevant. Amazon tends to jack their prices up when supplies run low (Up to 50 percent wouldn't surprise me). You might get a better price if you wait for them to get a new shipment in. Secondly, the way to know better what the situation is, would be to go on camelcamelcamel (Google it) and check the price history of the product. You need them to actually stock the product to be able to do this (You 'copy' the ULR on the Amazon site and 'paste it in the search bar on camelcamelcamel). You can also create a notification to be sent to you when the price goes below a target price you set. It's a very handy site.

Or better yet you could buy it from AG on sale and support the company that brings us this great forum. Just the other day AG had 25% off sale and free shipping.

OP said he wanted to buy a gallon. I checked. AG doesn't have it in a gallon.

Plus, a lot of the specialty detailing products on Amazon are sold by PBMG.

But anyways, I agree. The only time I buy products on Amazon is when AG doesn't sale what I need or I need one item and I need it now.

I can confirm that the smell DOES NOT smell like a new car.

Very disappointing. I guess there truly is nothing on the market that can emulate that plasticky/newish/chemically smell like a real new car.

Odor identification varies greatly by individuals. I think it smells just like a new car.

Some people can smell asparagus in their urine, others cannot. Its genetic.

I bought CG new car, leather, and stripper scents and all of my customers choose stripper scent, it smells great. The new car smell is ok. None of them last that long though, a couple days max.

Stripper Scent is BY FAR my most popular drive away scent. It is cherry, vanilla and baby powder scents.

My favorite smell for my own car is Chuy Bubble Gum scent.

I purchased both new car scent and leather scent from CG. I like them both but prefer the leather for my car. It does not last long though, perhaps less then a week. This was not a big deal as I would spray a little more on my carpets every week when I cleaned my car.

Now CUSTMSPRTY points out how this will build up on my rugs and my contribute to staining in the long run. Maybe I need to come up with a new plan!

FWIW I have the sample pack and although some of the scents are okay. I find that I don't get more than a few days of longevity.

They are water based air fresheners, supposed to be used to cover smells, like carry out food, or just for a pleasant smell. They are not meant to last very long. If you want something that will last you need to use an oil based scent like Dr. Beasley's.

What about a few spritz on your cabin air filter?

Hey, I don't get why anybody would want their call to smell like off gassing plastics, but CG New Car Smell is our most popular fragrance. Second is Pina Colada. My personal favorite is Shine Supply Vanilla Bean. I will say this, the CG New Car Smell does in fact smell like a new car.

As if you would’ve known that all on your own.
I bet if “they” said it smelled like poinsettias, you’d say it smells like poinsettias.
