So I finished the job this afternoon and it came great except for one thing....OVERSPRAY! I taped off the area around the lights but I didn't think about the area further back on the fenders. Because of this I have OVERSPRAY on there. I first tried my aggressive nanoskin small clay sponge but no luck. I then tried Megs UC by hand but no good. I'm out of time right now and I'm wondering if my 3" GG RO will do the trick? I have very flat 3" purple pads to use, as well as my GG6" machine with flat mf pads as well. For polishes I have the above mentioned Megs UC as well as M101, thoughts on how to get rid of this, do I have what I need?

Any input would be appreciated because I feel like a dumbass here, not thinking about anything but the actual job at hand and not stopping to look around, the difference between the pros and backyarders I guess

To be clear, what kind of over spray?

No pics, standard OVERSPRAY and its from the headlight resto kit. Sorry about the word being capitalized, phone did that.

The 101 may do the job. Depending on how bad the over spray 3M rocks in a bottle and/or maybe wet sanding. You know the routine. Good Luck

Have you tried a magic eraser and your M101 with light pressure

Try the least aggressive approach first with the GG Mini and a thin foam cutting pad (to get good rotation) and compound, either Megs UC or M101.

If not getting good rotation with the Mini try the GG 6".

If that doesn't work, try a MF pad with the compound.

If that doesn't work, try 5000 grit damp sanding.

If that doesn't work, try 3000 grit damp sanding, etc.

I don't have magic eraser but could I use M101 and my aggressive clay sponge together? This clay pad is about 4" x 2.5" so it's not too large. I never though about doing it like this, just brain storming here

Before you start grinding away with compounds try regular clay. I know u said you tried nanoskin but give the regular clay a try. I ran into an overspray job a few months back. The clay subistutes didn't touch it but regular clay did. Still took some patience and time.

Not sure if it will help but i had the meguiars perfect clarity overspray on my Envoy. I used rubbing alcohol and it worked fine but it was within 5 to 10 minutes of getting on the paint.

lol @ script!!!! As someone mentioned above start with the least aggressive method first. Good luck bud!

Regular clay should take it out.

I've used clay to remove primer many times that was accidentally sprayed on other cars by careless body men in a collision shop.

Going to work on it tonight guys, thank you very much. I have the yellow Griots Garage clay and that's it.

Tomorrow I have to polish out the hood of my mother in laws car. Apparently her and her husband were washing the car and dried it off with some waterblade....you know what what hapoened😱

good luck man I'm sure it will come out. I don't ever tape off anything so I'm always dealing with over sprays myself lol almost have become an expert by ruining and practicing on my personal cars

It'll work, it's gonna take a lot of rubbing back and forth! Just keep at it and make sure use lots of lube!

Anyone think a light solvent would be a good idea to try first?
