I'd say that's pretty close to how I'm going to hustle...

My guess is over 7 hours and under 10 hours, somewhere in the middle.

I would guess about 12 hours. I'd cut with a good old Dewalt rotary and orange cutting pad, load it with some cut max or hyper compound. Then a long throw da with also an orange cutting pad and carpro essence. And because I have an obsession with coatings, slather on some cquartz uk and call it a day.

I'd estimate 14-16 hrs. I only have a GG6 so using that with LC orange pad for compounding (4-6 Pads), polishing with LC white pads (3-4) and black or blue pad for sealant/wax. GG Fast correction cream or GG complete compound, GG finishing or GG complete polish, HD Poxy. That car looks like the one from the Sept 2014 class as I was there. Does it have the Joker doll inside?
 
Depends on my level of tiredness, and car's defects.

I would say between 6 - 8 hours.

Probably use the Rupes Duetto and Mini.

Rupes Zephir/Blue foam or microfiber to cut, and Keramik/yellow foam to polish. Rupes 808 to seal.

Or

Rupes UHS/Grey pad to cut, and Rupes Keramik/yellow foam to polish, and 808 to seal.

OK, then, since you really did get it ready for cutting - the solvent wipe down - and we both know how diplomatic we're being here, lol, I'll stick to my time frame.

me I would say 8 to 10 hours for essentially a two step. But that also includes my decontamination step and tapping step as well. Another little bit for waxing
 
I'd say 10-14 hours depending on how fresh the paint is.

Fresh: boss21 megs MF and D300 followed by rupes yellow and m205 or hd polish. Silica spray sealant.

Hard: rotary, wool and m100 followed by boss21 rupes yellow and sonax perfect finish. Silica spray sealant.

7-10 is incredibly fast Mike.

Hit the chrome with my compounding combo after the paint is done. Hit glass with my polishing combo after the paint is done.
 
My estimate ( 3rd post) included doing all the taping off myself along with finished chrome bumper, wheels and tires.... Not sure 7 to 10 is apples to apples if we all are not doing the same job....

Mike is the master, no question there but I feel the 12 to 16 range is something us mere mortals can effectively do....thoughts ? That's a huge boat of an automobile with plenty of real estate to cover.
 
I clearly understand I'm joining this discussion late and now have Mike's estimate of time known, but...

As long as it's ready to go:

Test spots - 15 mins.

Taping - 10-15 mins.

Compounding and heavy defect leveling - 4-6 hours
Based on holograms as described and maybe some other issues found, I would GUESS either my rotary or Flex 3401, a bunch of wool pads and maybe Menzerna HCC 400 or Jescar compound. Depending on tests, maybe Menz 300 or another favorite I can't mention. My new favorite wool for compounding is the LC Hybrid blue wool and that might certainly get a test area.

Finish Polishing - 2-3.5 hours
Flex 3401, white or MAYBE orange LC Hybrid foam and Menz 3800 or Jescar.

LSP application and buff off - 1/2 - 1 hour
Pinnacle Sovereign or WG Fuzion machine and hand applied (tight areas). If a coating was requested 1 hour.

TOTAL TIME - 7 - 11 hours. That's just the paint. Add another 1 - 2 hours for glass, chrome wheels/tire/wells etc. For any others doing this as a business, my estimate is 10 hours at my hourly rate.

Oh, and when the customer shows up he says "WOW! Beautiful BUT it's not quite as good as when Mike Phillips did it last time down in Stuart".
 
Using a rotary for compounding and finishing out with my xfe7 I would say 10 hours. Of course with my back issues those hours would be over a three day span lol

Hummm...gotta rethink mine. I'm slower by around 3 hours. So whatever Mike finishes at---gotta tack on 3 more hours for me.

OK, I'm going to guess the product is one of the ones I mentioned or something very similar and the machine is the PO5000C,
