I also thought the ridgid backing plate was gonna be a problem.I quickly found out that the pads flex enough on there own so it,s not a problem at all.Glad to see you join the club and wait till you try it out.

Btw this is what it looks like.

This looks like an interesting tool. One question though (and this may be stupid but I gotta ask since I dont know) what is the difference between this and other buffers? Specifically the forced rotation -vs- orbital -vs- rotarty? I am still kind of new at this and just dont know so I must ask.

Count me in with the Flex family. I'm ordering one monday.

Good to see you ZoranC, ole buddy ole pal!

Hey, Cooter, I think it was you that put me into contact with Zoran after what happened on autopia. Good to see you again! They do have some real wingnuts running around over there. I haven't spent all too much time on this form, but that might be changing soon.

Good to see you too DJ. Yeah I bet it was. Man I messaged like 20 ppl and then gave them the wrong email, so I went back and did it agian! Me and Z have done alot of trading back and forth. He's a good friend. Now I just hope a guy sends me the $ for my old PC =) over at offtopic. Yeah i like it over there but just wonder who's gonna be next. But the good thing is, you'll see them around somewhere =). Thanks for all the info and review on the Flex. I'm gonna try and order mine monday. Heck, I might even do it tomorrow.

Heath, my buddy!!!!!! :cheers::cheers::cheers:

Guys, those of you that don't know Cooter, let me tell you, he has been a great pal. If you ask me his heart is bigger than a house. Year ago when I was sick like a dog guess who was constantly checking how I'm doing (beside my gf)? Yup, Cooter! Heath, thank you!

And yes, you gonna love your Flex! I yet have to hear of person that did not.

Yeah i like it over there but just wonder who's gonna be next.
I would hate to end up being correct when I say I am afraid things said on this forum can end up in wingnut that is reading them pointing crosshairs on some other forum.

Well I did it this morning. Placed my order. This is the fastest I've ever bought a detailing tool. Usually I'll read up on it for a month or two before buying one. This one had a grand total of 4 days!

You won't be disappointed I know I LOVE mine! In fact I'm going to go use it right now!

Wolfpacker92 - hey bro, I was at State in the hey day of Jimmy V! Question, did you go through Powerhouse to get the Flex or the detailer web site?

Has anyone burnt any paint with the Flex? From what I've been reading, there is a chance but its not too likely. Which pads have you guys found to use with the flex?

Zoran, Have you experienced any of the "skipping" with the Flex?

I'm going to do a couple of posts here on some questions that have come up and on a detail I finished up today on the exterior.

As for burning pain, I have not yet and have worked some areas probably a little longer than they should've been worked. I felt that paint afterwards, and it was very hot to the touch. I was probably getting pretty close. But, as with anything, if you keep it moving, you will not burn the paint. You can still work it as slow as a PC (about 1"-2" / second or so) and sitll be fine.

As for skipping, I've experienced a little, but it's mainly been due to not having proper gripping on it. I find it works best with one hand over the grip on top of the head of the Flex, and the other on the tail end where the electrical plug comes in. This is an inch or 2 back from where the trigger is. However, a few weeks ago when I was trying out a LC CCS orange pad, that Flex was doing the Texas 2 step all over the place. This kind of turned me off on the CCS pads and I've been mainly sticking with flat pads.
