Hello all,

I have recently purchased a used stainless steel exhaust system that needs a little polishing. It's in overall great condition, but has some water spots or oxidation or something on the tip that I would like to get off. What would you guys recommend or use yourself? Something OTC even? Thanks

Have you tried nxt all metal polish or the mothers powerball with a metal polish ???

I went ahead and got mothers alum polish (liquid). It worked great. Polished everything up very well and now the exhaust has a great shine. Thanks for the suggestion

wipe down with ONR @ qd dilution, then NXT metal polish, (I also use blue magic metal polish, its OTC for like 5.00):

If you use steel wool, remember this is not the same one that is under the kitchen sink and used on pots/pans. Fine ... very fine !

:whs: A coarser steel wool WILL scratch your stainless steel, then it will really look bad. I really like a powerball with mothers mag and aluminum polish for my stang's tips. I haven't tried NXT yet but may after reading this post.

000 Steel Wool is what you want and it does work very well.

I'll use a metal polish using 000 SW to apply and even give a squirt of wd-40 on the object being polished..turns out nice!!
