I've had my g21 for few months now maybe little under 6months I've probably only used 1 or 2 times for full correction since I'm always reaching for rupes or flex.
Every so often I grab it to hit long hoods or top of cars .
Point is the machine is not abused and has been well kept
2 days ago I was using no problem till I notice the machine didn't turn on while I pressed it then slowly started turning and working as usual.
I put the machine down maybe 5mins or so and grab it again but this time It did not turn on at all?
Should I just contact griots or had anyone had this issue ?
I want add that my extension cord and power source is fine I use my flex and rupes without issues for hours

Check the brushes.

The brushes are very easy to check/replace.

On the side of the polisher you will see 2 black plastic caps. Unscrew it with a dime and check if the brushes need tocbe replaced.

Your unit comes with replacement brushes and are very easy to replace.

Have you tried not using the extension cord? plug it right into the wall and see if that works for you if not my guess would be a switch went bad.

I am 99% sure it's the brushes. The same thing happened to my g15 about 6 months ago. I put in new brushes and it hasn't happened again.

If you look at the brushes and you see a U shape that has worn into the carbon then I guarantee they just need to be replaced. Good luck!!

I ordered two extra sets of brushes from griots to have on hand for when I wear them down again.

Awesome looks like I can't save myself a call to griots
Do brushes usually wear off that fast tho?
My rupes is my work horse and seem to be running fine at all times with out any sign of wearing out

You're right about Rupes, I haven't had any issues with the brushes on my rupes bigfoot polisher.

I think it's more or less an issue specific to Boss Polishers. I use my boss polisher daily and a set of brushes last me around 5-6 months. Hope that helps.

The screws that hold the brushes in loosened up on mine and it did something similar. Brushes are always the first thing I check.

unfortunately, no man made tool is going to be perfect and sometimes things happen. yes, even rupes has had their share of problems too (for example check out the DW site). hopefully it's something minor like the brushes being loose or just need to be replaced. if you can't figure it out to no avail, call GG and see what they recommend in trouble shooting. it's got a lifetime warranty and their customer service is top notch and will make things right no matter what the situation/problem is...

btw, customer service is a huge factor when i buy a product. if you have crappy or non existent customer service, i don't care how good your product is, i won't support or buy your product if i can help it. i'm not going to put my hard earned money into someone's pocket if they don't appreciate their customers...
