Am curious as to when the batteries are running low how is the performance of the tool?

Don't they all suffer in performance, but it does have a battery life indicator so you can switch before it gets to that point..which imo is a cool feature.

With my other lithium ion batteries it goes balls to the wall until it's dead

It would be cool and convenient if they followed Rupes thinking of offering the same polisher with battery and corded options-problem solved.

Ah. "Later in the year" (not sure if they mean this year or 2018) a cordless 3401 version will be announced. I'd line up to buy one of those!

And the new 3401 will have a cordless option too, that’s awesome.

I agreed with that. I hope it is not an only battery tool.

They look really nice but my first thoughts are:

You're gonna need way more than 2 batteries or you're going to be buying batteries quickly due to max charge cycles.

They are going to charge a serious premium for the batteries and it would be (and I'm assuming they're not) great if you could use
some more generic-y battery like Makita or DeWalt or .....

If they offered an AC adaptor cord w/ a dummy battery on the end so the device is NOT limited to battery-only.

I've settled on one brand of cordless tool for exactly this reason. Depending on what you're doing you need several batteries. Needing several x multiple brands just makes for too many batteries to manage, as well as chargers. I have one charger for all my cordless tools and enough batteries in different sizes that are always charged.

Not saying I wouldn't break that rule for one of the new Flex tools, but needing another set of batteries and another charger is a concern for some of us.

So me being a mobile guy this new cordless Flex da is the perfect tool not only can I carry it in a detail back with me when I go to car shows to do test Bots for potential customers but when I'm doing a basic wash in a car and if a customer happened to say hey I've got this scratch over here you think you can get it out I don't have to set everything up pull out the polisher my generator extension cord plug it in drag out a hundred foot 1/4 what not I just pop in the battery work the scratch and be done with it so yes for practical use as a mobile detailer this is genius if I was detailing entire car I don't see this being very practical or something that I'd use

Lmao! I was thinking the same thing! When I got to the last part I thought, wait what the heck did he just say there at the end? I had to read it twice to figure out where the sentences should end in order to make sense of it.
