Blackfire Wheel and Tire Cleaner Review:

This is my review of Blackfire Tire and Wheel Cleaner. Meghan was very gracious in asking me to test several of the new products in the redesigned Blackfire product line. I must say that so far this has been the most impressive new product I have tested from new Blackfire line so far. In short, I found the Blackfire Tire and Wheel Cleaner to be AMAZING !!!

When I received the Blackfire Wheel and Tire Cleaner I had to think of a car to use them on since my all of my wheels are coated and I usually only need soap and water to clean them.

I decided to test the cleaner on my girlfriends 2009 Lexus RX330 wheels. This car sees a ton of road miles and the wheel are not maintained as well as they should be. These wheels were the perfect candidate for this product with tons of brake dust on the wheels and dirt on the tires. Blackfire Wheel and Tire Cleaner states that it is safe for a wheel types.

One of the features that stood out for me with this product had to do with the application. Blackfire Wheel and Tire Cleaner tends to be on the “thick” side and when I applied it the product immediately clung to the surface of the wheel. The product is a bright red color and as with some other wheel cleaners and iron decon products most would think that the red is an indicator of a reaction to iron on the wheel surface. However, after looking over the directions and product description, I did not see where the Blackfire Wheel and Tire Cleaner had any “decon” properties for wheels similar to products like IronX or Sonax.

Immediately after application I could see the product working and breaking down the brake dust and dirt and crud on the wheel and tire surface. The directions state to allow the product to work for approximately 30 seconds before agitation and rinse. After about a minute I started working on the wheels and tires with various brushes to get them clean.

Another interesting feature of this wheel and tire cleaner was the foaming action. After agitating the product I was treated to a nice foam on both the wheel and tires. A simple rinse produced an amazing clean surface on both wheel and tire. The product also rinsed very cleanly.

Overall I was very impressed this product and only wish I had more of it to use. My bottle only had about ¼ of a 32 ounce bottle and a small portion of that had leaked during shipment. I only had enough to test on about 4 wheels. I can see this product being a contender to other wheel and tire cleaners like Meguiars Non-Acid wheel cleaner (D143). For a wheel product that is both a wheel and tire cleaner in one this product is a winner !!!!

Great review Pat! I'm looking forward to this product!

Pat thank you for this great review, with this product we went with something completely different than we have done before.
We went with a red wheel cleaner so you can actually see where it has been sprayed and made it thick like a gel so it will stick and dwell some on the wheel. I have two products in this line that I really think are going to absolutely floor the detailers, this is one and the One Step is the other!
They are all amazing but these two will be ones detailers will talk about for a long time!

Now that's a great idea! Thanks for the info Meghan :)

Meghan: Are we looking at a total re-boot of the Blackfire product line? Your comments above combined with all the new product reviews dropping over the last two days, the video Mike posted, and the new packaging, it's starting to look like something on the same scale as the XMT/DP product line merger.

This line is revamped in terms of the look, chemical changes and we added new products to the line! We just took this line and put the Detailer in mind when making. We went for ease of use and being appropriately priced for the person that is trying to make a living while using this line.
So re-boot, heck yes! Did we leave alone some of the cornerstone favorites in this line, ABSOLUTELY! This line should represent the best in many categories of what detailers are looking for, a lot of time and effort has went into this line!

Meghan, thank you for your comments about the changes to the BlackFire line. Are concentrates going to be made available for any of the new offerings? I think I saw a new waterless wash concentrate in the video that Mike posted recently, but I'm still curious if others will be made available. Products, especially wheel and tire cleaners, that are ready to use are sometimes too cost prohibitive.

Thank you again.

There are a couple in Concentrate, if you send me a list via email of what you are looking for exactly that would be great feedback to help us with this line. This is just the first set of products launching we have a handful to follow.
