2015 MKZ with factory polished aluminum wheels

I just purchased a pre-owned MKZ for my DD. I'm new to factory polished aluminum wheels. Do the factory wheels require polishing or are they coated with some type of protection? Looking for the best method for cleaning and protecting.

OE polished wheels come with a clear coat. Treat them like any other clear coated wheel.
