I know they've been out for a while, but my first experience using a WOWA product has just been in the last few weeks when I started using Meguiar's new Ultimate Fast Finish and I love it! The ease of which it applies is actually fun, and saves so much time, and I can't imagine myself going back to regular sealants again. But as much as I love using UFF I wonder if there is a better WOWA out there I could try out? (I'm sure I'm not alone in the detailing world there, trying new stuff is part of the fun) I know that UFF is probably the least expensive WOWA product out there, is it worth the extra money to try some of the others like Wolfgang Deep Gloss Liquid Seal, Optimum Opti-Seal or any of the others at the higher price points? I'm wondering if there are people on here that have tried a bunch of these different products and can compare what they like and don't like about them? These products are so quick to apply that I don't mind redoing it every few weeks, but durability is still a bit of a concern, especially with winter coming and the fact that I'll take my wife's car through a touchless car wash every week or two (I'm sure the harsh chemicals they use take a pretty big bite out of the protection of just about any product, even ceramics) I like the hydrophobic nature of UFF, I find it helps keep the car cleaner looking between washes since dirt often won't stick as much (do the other WOWA products out there behave like this too?) As well, do any of these types of products truly provide protection against paint etching from bird bombs and water spots?

UFF is also my 1st wowa and I'm not sure what I think about it. It doesn't seem to last as long as I thought it would or maybe I am not understanding what it should do. It's very easy to apply and wipe off. Immediately afterwards water just slides off. After a week it beads up really well. After a week and driving in the rain it's still beading up well. That's on my garaged car. On the 2nd car that's outside 24/7, the water just doesn't bead after a few weeks and a wash with Megs Wash n Wax.
Maybe my expectations are off? Maybe I am washing it off?
My baseline experience is with Megs Crystal Paint Cleaner, Polish, and Wax. When I applied that wax, towels would just slide right off the hood and I haven't been able to replicate that with either GG show wax or now with Megs UW or UFF.

I'm going to point the finger at the wash & wax. It is probably messing with it and altering the properties of UFF. Rain doesn't help either with the road grime that is thrown back onto the paint.

Maybe I have unrealistic expectations for the UFF. I notice that on both car, driving in the results is spots and streaking...very dirty, but maybe that's gonna be the result no matter what product I use.
Back to Megs Gold Class car wash now...
You're not to wipe off UFF after applying it. It's a wipe on walk away product. And Megs wash n wax I think mess with the behavior of UFF. Instead of Megs gold wash I would recommend something like Megs hyper wash that don't leave any wax or gloss enhancer afterwards. Then UFF is to work on it's own.
Meguiars says that you can get up to 12 months of protection on UFF. Is they that far of with their claims of durability of it?
Wonder if anyone knows what is the base of the protection in it? So you can find a drying aid that works as booster at the same time. Is it sio2 or something else?
I am to lay on Ultima paint guard plus soon on my stepfathers car which also is a WOWA. Prep it first with polishing with Ultima paintprep plus to get some more durability from it. And apply 2-3 coats of UPGP on it. That will hopefully take thrue winter. I like the wetlook it provides thou it is not as deep a wax can be. Then I have a qd that suits it very well for drying aid or after drying.

Meguiar's recommends a final wipe per the box on step 2. Not necessarily wiping it off. It flases pretty fast anyway. And no UFF is not SiO2. It's still polymer based.

I do think that 12 months is wishful thinking for any sealant, as I really don't think any product is going to last that long unless it's on a garage kept car that is never driven in the rain and only washed with the best car wash products. Unfortunately that's not the real world and most cars will see rain and dirt and snow and salt and hot and cold even some automatic car washes from time to time. No way it's going to last even 1/2 of a year under those conditions.

WDGLS is the only one I've used but it is good on everything. Glass, paint, trim etc. the stuff is amazing
I misunderstood it with he was buffing it of. It's just for coverage the final wipe is for.
Since it is polymer based you could use Megs ultimate qd or even quik wax maybe. And maybe wash with d111 or d110 or any other brand with polymers or clean schampo.
With a dd that sits outside 24/7 longevity will not be as high at it claims. So just take care of the maintance as good as you can and see how long it last.
