Today I had a quick detail to do, exterior only. The owner hated all of the buffer swirls left by the dealer (bought the SUV used) and wanted them gone. Both of our schedules were pretty tight so I had to go back to the old school products. Tried and true products. I had a few helpers on the detail and total time was about 2 1/2 hours. It's far from perfect but thats not what the owner was looking for today ... but maybe in the future :D....

Process:
Wash w/ QEW, seasponge
SSR2.5 5.5" light cut pad, UDM speed 6
PwC Blue 7.5" polishing pad, PC, speed 5
OCW

Products used (with exception to EX, time didn't allow):

Now the damage:

So those were my honest pictures and here's the cheating pictures in the shade:

Don't mind the dirty wells and undressed tires, a full detail to it will be done at a later date. So to say the least the results were great considering the time and limited product usage. I really missed using Poorboy's Polish with Carnauba. I'm not sure why I haven't used it more often but I am sure glad that I did! It cleaned up a little micromarring left from the light cut pad and left some carnauba for protection. Topping that off with OCW added some more durability and made the surface a little slicker. It was nice using products that may have been forgotten by a lot of members, PwC blue, QEW and the sea sponge. Hope you liked the pictures

boy did you ever improve that thing! i'm sure he must have been happy.

good job, 2.5hrs is super fast, and you had some seriously nasty paint to work with there. Free dealer installed buffer holograms are always nice.

QEW is a waterless wash right? You like the sea sponge for that purpose?

So much better... that poor thing looked just awful! Nice job!

Great improvement in that short amount of time budman. Also, thank you for the "honest" pictures! Shade pictures always look great.

That hood reflection is great, nice scenery.

Yeah it's a rinsless wash, the first I believe, and then ONR and DP4&1 came along. The sea sponge is great for rinsless washing, IMO. It holds water, doesn't drip, has a place for the dirt to go, lasts forever, a good size, rinses clean and very gentle.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Even though its not perfect to me, the owner thinks it is, which is what really matters .

A lot of good info Budman, Thanks. Guess it's time to pick up one of those sea sponges. The car looks much better now that you made the holograms disappear.

Big improvement on the paint...Dealerships, I don't undestand them at all when it comes to details....
