My name is Janson (35yrs old). I have always been a but of a detailing fanatic since I was age 15 polishing the paint off of my 93 Ford Probe that I couldn't drive yet.

Three years ago I got a great job offer that I had been working all of my life for. I was finally able to purchase the car of my dreams (within reason). I purchased a 2015 Dodge Scat Pack Challenger (485hp). She is beautiful and she is black.

All of my life I have always polished and waxed cars by hand. There was a time or two when I used a cheap electric buffer but I had no idea what what a DA polisher was. When I first bought my challenger I knew I needed to get a good coat of sealant on it. I clayed it and did a two step duragloss sealant all by hand. The challenger is a huge car. My shoulders and hands must have cramped countless times.

Then I recently found Autogeek..

I recently purchased a DA polisher and made a huge order here at Autogeek :props:. I'll save that for another post. I'm excited to meet some new people and looking forward to learning a lot!

Below are images of when my car was new after my first hand polish (2015):

Don't let anyone tell you you're their butt. I don't care if he's a detailing fanatic... You deserve better. Lol.

Pray that you never have to detail a Chevy Suburban... It is then when you realize the true meaning huge. Lol.

Just messin with you. Welcome online, Janson. Nice car.

Welcome. I did the same a few years ago but a different car. It was THAT car though that got me thinking I needed to step up my game and stumbled on AG. Couple thousand dollars later....

Nice ride!

Haha I could not image a polishing a suburban much-less parking one!!

Thanks everyone! Seeing all of the warm welcomes makes me know that I am at the right place! Happy to be here! Some of you have some very good looking rides in your avatar!

Welcome aboard to AG!

Congrats on buying your dream car, not everyone is able to that!!

Welcome JRM, nice Scat! I had a 93 Probe GT.

Learned just recently that the Probe was proposed at one time to be the replacement for the Mustang!

I never cared for the Probe growing up, but I saw one advertised on CL recently and it actually looked cool to me. In a retro and unique styling sort of way.

Beautiful Mopar. I’d love to drive any of the high horsepower Hemis. Shoot, even a base Hemi sounds exciting!

Congratulations on a beautiful Challenger! Mopar or no car! Are you mayhaps located in north Texas? If so there's a Mopar club that I would like to talk to you about. :)

Here is a recent picture of my Scat Pack. I dreamed about owning a 392 since Dodge introduced it in 2011.

I agree. There is definitely a lot of surface area. If you can consistently get a Pitch Black Challenger looking good, and not scratch the (unfortunately) soft clear coat, you can do just about anything to any car. :)

Be sure to share what else you do with your Challenger. It's a great platform.

I remember reading that when I was younger. I had a black base model with lifters so loud that you could hear me a mile away! It was such a great looking car for the day!

I'm actually in Atlanta Georgia. They have a great challenger group over here that I need to start participating in.

I recently bought a bunch of stuff and will document how the job goes.
