It’s been 15 months since our 11 year old greyhound Lizzy passed. It’s been us and our 7 yr old greyhound Khaki.

We met Jax (aka Jackpot) and he and Khaki hit it off so well he’s now part of the pack.

He’s 3, 74 lbs and has some weight to gain. We expect he’ll get to about 80 lbs. He’s fresh off the track and getting used to being in house. Khaki is showing him the ropes. Jax starts obedience training tomorrow.

Jax!

Way to go, Paul!!!

As you may know, my wife and I do Pit Bull rescue.

A couple we know rescues Greyhounds. I have to say that they are some of the sweetest dogs I have ever met.

Very happy for you guys on your new family member!! :)

That's awesome Paul. I'm sure he's going to love his retired life with your family.

Nice one guys! :props:

Congratulations on the new family member. I haven't ever been around Greyhounds but they always give the appearance of a loyal friend. I'm pleased for you Paul, & for Jax too - very cool.

Thanks all... it’s been a stressful few days. Any new adult (previous working) dog coming into your home brings challenges.

With ex-racers, we’re not just training (I.e obedience) them, we’re rehabilitating them.

Jax is my 4th grey and he brings challenges I haven’t experienced before, but we’re not giving up on him.

He’s a good boy! And has more good qualities than bad.

The poor boy (only 3) is covered in scars, one on his left shoulder is at least 3 inches. He has a slight limp and is plagued with worms. We’ve got more vet visits scheduled, one tomorrow, and he’s on meds.

These poor animals. We got to stop racing.... (sorry, my soap box).

Jax decided he was going to get cozy with our 7 yr old female grey Khaki tonight after their dinner. Khaki looks like she’s going along with it...

Awesome, we rescue hundreds of animals a year and it brings me a lot of joy. If you want donations and if we're aloud to say that on here let us/me know.

I'm on that soap box with you! I don't even like horse racing!

I'm really glad you got Jax and are taking care of him. My greys seemed so sad when I first adopted them... now they know we love them and they are happy and carefree.
