What did you do today non-detailing related?

Installed a new hour meter on my riding mower.

I had installed an inductive one on it last year (one that runs off the spark pulses to track hours). But the more I thought about it, I just wasn't happy with that style. Plus, I have been reading that the internal battery only lasts 5-6 years.

So I bought an old-school 12 volt meter a few weeks ago. Was a nice day here, so I removed the inductive one, cut the hole for the new one, and installed it.

Had to find a keyed source of power (one that only has power when the key is on so the meter will not run constantly).

Took about 2 minutes with my electric meter to find and confirm, then another 10 minutes to splice into the power, make the connections, and button everything up in the wiring harness.

Now I'm happy with the meter I probably should have bought in the first place. Lol
 
So was looking for the new replacement bottle for the pf22 and found this........

Well i love black wheels but finally had to change it up and remove plastidip from my wheels. Gonna do something with the red gmc logo on center cap tho. Never really needed it but relized couple spots the plasti dip was to thin so got out denatured alcohol and soak for a few seconds on rag and then find dry part of rag and it wipes right off. So forget buying the 30 buck dip dissolver if only doing small bits. This worked just as well just needed to use very little elbow grease. Now maybe if i had big pieces the dip dissolver would be wanted. Cause then u just spray it off with pressure washer.

Ran machine cleaners thru the washing machine and dishwasher.

What do you use in the washing machine?
I have been using Tide washing machine cleaner during the tub clean function.
Hopefully it does something besides help me spend money.
 
Since I am pretty much on "house arrest", I spent time in the yard today.

Clipped a few bushes, did some raking, and picking up after my dogs.

I wanted SO badly to leave the property today, but nothing is really open and I figured "Why waste gas?"


New world we live in now......... :/

Oxy Clean brand. I have also used the Tide ones in the past. Good too.

Paul, you forgot to add sending me some funny memes and pics and stuff.
 
Spent time observing declining customer traffic at my restaurant. Thinking about how long I can run it and keep folks working. Also wondering if it’s worth staying open. Texted other franchise owners about the same. Orders due by 3pm tomorrow. Not sure I can meet the minimum delivery amount unless I pool order with other location near. This pandemic.

a good tip I learned years back.. if you have a front loading washing machine is to leave the door slightly open after you do a load so it can air out (close the door the next day). this will help prevent the rubber seals inside from rotting/cracking/mold...

Thanks man...feels like flu but definitely wouldn’t rule the new kid out as breathing is different. I mean I wasn’t gonna run a marathon anytime soon and still won’t but it does seem like the chest is slightly heavier.

It was 65 here today. :)

I raked all the winter "crap" out of the yard (twigs, a few leaves, and some chewed stick remnants from my dogs).
Used the leaf blower to finish up, then I mowed for the first time this year.

Trimmed back some branches growing into my yard from my neighbor's side of the fence, and brought them out to the curb for town pick-up.

Mixed up my "Magic 2-stroke juice" for the summer. (2 quarts Tru-fuel 50:1, one ounce Seafoam, and half an ounce of Marvel Mystery Oil).

Tidied up in the shed, then went on to wash the truck. :)
 
Well at least you’re staying active. I did similar work in my yard too. I’ve started laying down all new mulch in the flower beds. It will be an ongoing project. Did that yesterday then walked five miles today. Tomorrow is more mulch laying.

We have to mow pretty much all year here. I am now on my official once a week cycle. I’ll have to get more gas for the mower soon.
