What did you do today non-detailing related?

Walked outside this morning to find a LOT of bird crap all down the side of my passenger side door.

Grabbed my DP Waterless, and cleaned it up.

About 20 minutes later while letting the dogs out, I look over and it's BACK.

Walked back inside to grab my stuff, and came out to a female robin freaking out on my side mirror thinking it was another bird.

I like animals, but this tested my urge to use a pellet gun! Figuring it probably was being territorial with a nest nearby, I just folded my mirrors in and covered them with some old MF towels.

F'n birds. Lol
....but did you "give em the bird"

Spent the morning getting a new dishwasher. I was able to score a GE unit that was less than half price.
Now I get to install it on Sunday.

I ended up with NewAge cabinets. Hopefully I can make some progress and post some pics today

Bold or Pro series? I’m considering some newage cabinets but not sure I need the pro. The cost of the Bold series is very attractive.

100% Bold. I didn't need the pro. I didn't even know they came with under cabinet lighting

I had the same situation a few years ago but I solved that problem without violence. I cut down all the trees that were near my driveway. I still get an occasional fly by poopin' but not as bad as it was.

With the fluorescent lights slowly dying in the garage, my husband started taking them down today.
He will be replacing them with super bright LED lights!
Way better lighting for detailing :buffing:

I’ve been buying and replacing things for the patio... new umbrella with lights, replacing an old wooden bench with a new one with storage, new fire pit is a new addition and new tools for the grill :dblthumb2:

Well, I just went out to move the truck. Folding in the mirrors stopped the bird from attacking them, but I was Horrified when I looked in the bed. The damn thing has apparently been pecking at my rear glass all day. And the pile of bird crap in the back and on the bed rails was worse than anything I have ever seen. I also noticed it has been hard at work on the wife's rear glass on her Jeep.

Just got done cleaning all of the mess.

And sadly, this bird has sealed its own fate. Bye-bye birdie when I get a clean shot tonight/tomorrow morning. No two ways about it.

Changed out the battery on my minivan. Been sitting for a few weeks so it needed to be done. It’s been a good car to me since day 1. It will be 8 yrs old in a few weeks. Also tried to run all the gas out of my snow blower before I ruin another carb. Not fun to replace that part. Will need to run it again tomorrow and wash and store til next winter.

Do you use pump (ethanol) gas in the blower?

I did. I put super in there. I think its 92 or 93 octane. Also put stabile fuel stabilizer in there.

Octane does not matter for long-term storage. The ethanol is still a 10% blend. (I believe even closer to 12%)

Ethanol damages the rubber/neoprene/plastic parts in small engines (i.e. fuel systems).

Synthetic fuels are great, but mostly impractical cost-wise if you use several gallons a year.

In the future, pump your 93 octane in the container, then add Seafoam fuel additive (found anywhere) at 1 oz. per gallon.

Run this mixture all winter, and when the summer rolls around, run the Seafoam treated tank dry, or siphon it out into your mowers.

Go to your local hardware store, and buy a quart of TruFuel 4-stroke mix. (The engineered fuels I mentioned above).

Pour a few ounces in the tank, run the blower until it stalls, then drain the float bowl on the carb.

You will never have an ethanol problem the rest of your born days. ;)

Topped up the mulch on my front garden today.

And autumn has now well and truly arrived.

More gardening today, planted up some seedlings for a splash of color by the front door.

Got a new ultra ultra-wide PC monitor today and building my new gaming and streaming PC. I'm waiting for my new power supply to come back in stock so I can install my second computer system in. So right now I only have the gaming side setup. So I need to buy another motherboard, graphics card, new set of RGB fans, and capture card.
