What did you do today non-detailing related?

Pulled the rear diff cover off my truck to confirm my suspicion on a broken diff. Was 90% sure what was wrong and just confirmed it. The parts search is on to see if I can fix the cam plate and the pin that it drives to run the lockup mechanism. Good rearend but known weak point...especially if you like Smokey burnouts lol

You could have deleted it and then started again in the correct section......

Lazzzzzy plus I'm only allowed so many pics. Not sure why that thread pops up so high for me, I don't post in non-detail related threads

Today I purchased and assembled some shelving / work bench to store my various gardening tools (I'm a horticulturalist by trade), gardening chemicals and lubricants.

I have been wanting to this for a LONG time. The delay was caused by waiting for tradesman to start and finish other tasks within the garage. But good things come to those who wait, this section of the garage ready for my next stage of plans. No tools were required, the shelves simply slotting together and held with locking pins, it took me less than 30min to assemble.

A place for everything, everything in its place! I also love having a work bench for equipment servicing. And the extra good news is that it has freed up space in the chemical cabinet, allowing me to re-organize for possible new arrivals. (Possible is probably not the correct word to use!)

Changed cabin filter in the mini van. Looks like it has never been changed in 110k. Should help a lot. Picked up a filter so I can do an oil change this weekend and rotate tires

Take a pic of the cabin filter

Really? A cabin filter? Someone needs to get out more...and can you take me with you? This cabin fever sucks.
Well...a pic of this could inspire MANY people to get out there and replace theirs. It does affect the quality of your HVAC system, look at is a PSA to our community and the pic WILL inspire those to do so

Lol.... i just ordered a K&N one. Didn’t know that was a thing...

Yeah those are fairly new and not available for all cars yet. I need to check and see if they've become available for my car finally.

I don’t believe in the k&n cabin filter. If I knew I was going to keep the car for years maybe I would but this van is a in between vehicle. I was tired of paying for the suburban and to be honest for as big as they are if they have bucket seats in the 2nd row they aren’t as roomy as you’d think, especially if you add car seats and make the older kids sit in the cramped back seat

Holy sh!t
Klasse Act, please accept my humble apologies for giving you a hard time about asking for a picture of a cabin filter. Yes folks, these are a thing and should be replaced every 20-30,000 miles. :)

My faith in humanity has been restored, thank you

I change mine yearly

I do as well and if K&N ever gets around to making one for the ES I'll get one and then just wash it out once a year, let dry and re-install. These K&N cabin filters aren't oiled ones like the ones for your engine so it's even easier to maintain them

Traded in the Q50 yesterday to get the wife a new SUV. I'm "grounded" from travel at work so it really makes no sense for me to have a vehicle until we get over the covid crap so I'll just save for my new Toy ;) I think I maybe put 4,000 miles on my car in 2020 and that is just a guess on the high side.

I'll take over her Lincoln for a few months until then while she enjoys her new one. We'll then be getting rid of the Lincoln in April and I'll rock my sons little Corolla for a while as we go down to two vehicles. Pics of the new ride here after I get it all cleaned up.
