What did you do today non-detailing related?

Cut grass this morning. Beautiful out. When i was finished pulled both front drive wheels. One was pretty bad. The inner plastic teeth wear down. (21" Craftsman self-propelled.) Walked over to the local mower place and got a new one. Eyed up that 25" self-propelled BAD BOY mower again. If the Craftsman ever dies, this is a contender. Very pricey though!!

Thanks buddy! I will be excepting a 3rd shift position that comes with a promotion and shift premium. I plan on making it so my wife doesn't have to work. I like her being home, so does the little one. I know it's good for Mila because let's face it the best babysitter in the world is Mom. So, I just hired the best babysitter there is lol. The wife got her LLC for freelance bookkeeping and whatever else an IT company may need. Or any for that matter. Fingers crossed she gets some bites because that would basically be play money.

Took the kayaks out for the first time this year. Pollen was too bad earlier this year, then it was too hot or raining. Today was decent out.

Before I put the kayak back up, I cleaned that and put some 303 on it. Since the hull is textured, I use generic sponges since MF grabs too much.

So my buddy has a YT channel (Polish Bullitt) and he wanted to do a PSA-type video on the situation with my EN, so I decided we needed to give his EN a good wash...at the SAME touch-free wash I use

I'm happy to report NO flashing CEL with his car, let's get to the wash. We started with Brake Buster in my IK Foam Pro9 for the tires and wheels, Bilt-Hamber Surfex for the wheelwells and Bilt-Hamber Touchless for the pre-wash.

Once done we dried it off and I added a coat of CarPro Darkside to his Michelin Pilot Sport 4s and we were on our way. We stopped by Car Supplies Warehouse (Wheeling location) where he bought some iron remover and P&S Eucalyptus concentrate scent, he shared some with me and I made 16 oz of it (1:15 ratio recommended, probably could've done 2 oz but I'll see how it goes in my car later.

Anywho we did the video and he'll drop in a week if I had to guess, hoping part 2 of the video has a positive outcome for me where I report the knock sensor was replaced and I can get back to keeping my EN on MY schedule, it's so convenient with the heat, temps and sometimes limited time️

I went comet hunting tonight, and I found one. By chance, a news story showed up in my feed about Comet C2021 T4 (Lemmon), and we have a clear night. It's high in the sky in the constellation Ara, which I'm not familiar with. So I opened my Stellarium app, and it not only showed me where the constellation is, but where the comet is. I got out my fold out recliner and my Nikon 10-22 X 50s, and went hunting. Less than 5 minutes later I found it, I didn't believe it, so I zoomed on it in the app, the stars around it matched. Cool. I'll probably try with my telescope tomorrow night. Fyi this comet won't be back for another 36000 years.

More comet hunting, this time with my telescope and binoculars. Found it again, it hadn't moved much. Too dim to get a good picture without an expensive set up, basically looks like a smudge on the lens. With a long exposure shot it looks bright green apparently. I did get this shot of the moon by holding my phone up to the telescope though.

I took this image of the Sun this afternoon, the little dark bits are sunspots. Then I looked up the current sunspot activity to confirm it wasn't just a dirty lens. I had to process it a little bit in Photoshop. I only adjusted contrast, exposure, clarity and sharpness. It's not perfectly round due to the angle I had to take the image at.

Woke up at 1:45 am to book lodges at Glacier National Park for August 2024. They open up reservations for the month at midnight their time on Aug 1st. We were able to get everything booked. Last year we had to wait until they opened up the phones in the morning to get rooms because we couldn't get them online.

They always make mine for a simple donation but when I get there I end up doing a packed red cell donation.
