Heck I Change Brands and I Still Get Black - Ferrari 360

This 360 came in the lineup at the shop for detail (waiting on some gaskets of some sort), so I got an early start. I was able to pull the wheels while the car was on the service lift and wash + put a coat of Collinite Insulator on them. It also gave me an opportunity to clean the fender wells with some APC followed by some quick detailer.

Then, while the car is in the air, I tackled the exhaust tips and the belly pan tunnel. I used the Mother's foam polish ball with Wenol after cleaning them initially with #0000 steel wool and some generic liquid polish.

After mounting the wheels, I backed it outside for a quick wash and dry, then moved it to the detail bay to look at the paint.

Got some serious swirl-a-tation going on...not a lot of scratches, but the finish needed some good polishing.

I had a ton of taping to do as the car is approx. 40% clear bra'd (including the entire hood). Then I decided to see which product(s) are going to bring the finish up to my level.

I ended up with Menzerna Intensive Polish on a polish pad and that seemed to be the product that worked. Kept the rotary at 1,000 rpm and worked slowly, but here's a sample of the fender:

Something about that above shot is just sexy....the curves of the car and the angle of the shot really reminds me a a very beautiful part of a womans body!

Black cars just migrate to you..obviously they know where to come for the "royal treatment"!

I love using 845IW on rims..works very well.

Polishing Finished and Ready For Wax

Well, moving right along towards perfection: I finished polishing this wonderful car this afternoon. I am taking an extra amount of time because the owner can bring additional business to the shop...he's, how you say, "connected" LOL

Here's some pics after washing off the Menzerna dust.

I have to say, this type of paint correction is very different from the BMW's. I rarely use a compound (except for the most stubborn scratch) and pretty much keep to Meg's 83 and Menzerna IP or 106. They finish out extremely well.

I'll try to get some full sun shots tomorroe.
