I need some thoughts on second coats of UK. I did a full chemical, mechanical decontamination, full polish/ swirl removal, wipe down with eraser and one coat of UK. My truck is a crew cab, full 8' bed. So this is a large undertaking. I want to apply a coat of reload also. Should I put on a second coat of UK? Right now I'm just about whipped, but don't want to regret not doing a 2nd coat later. It took a mountain of work to get here. Any thoughts?

If you did a good job on that first coat I don’t see why do a second. Protect it with Reload and you’re set. Or get the new Gliss coat they have that was made to top CQuartz and will make it slick and shinier.
 
What soares said. Another coat is not going to add any more protection and you risk hazing the paintwork too. Reload every few months and wetcoat every wash is all you need

I went with what you guys suggested, then topped with reload. It really looks great. The UK is a breeze to put on. I've used 3 other coatings and this is by far the best to work with. That 4" foam block sure is small covering a vehicle that size, not that bigger would be better. It just takes a lot of strokes. The results sure are worth it. Thanks.

Good stuff! It's a great coating and just keep it topped up with reload every 3 months or so and wash and wetcoat every month. Enjoy

It's a product by Gyeon and gives great protection and water beading. Very easy to apply as you just spray on a wet car and pressure wash off! I also use it to protect and seal the wheels

Hydro2 lite is Carpro’s equivalent you could use hydrofoam as well for maintenance

Reset shampoo is a good one. Snow soap too

In light of what i said I've been informed by a mate who coated my car to only use wetcoat or reload if the beading properties are on their way out. Otherwise just a wash and dry is fine

Cquartz is definitely good stuff. Nothing against it but the New McKee's 37 SiO2 product is awesome stuff too. I had my Audi done 50/50 with the two for a while. Now that I have a new car it's done entirely with a single coat of McKee's 37. I may mix it up and do another 50/50 of McKee's vs something later in the spring.

Regular maint. wise, I mix up my "blue juice" combo of 1:20 ECH20 with 3oz of CarPro Reload as my detail spray. Simply spritz it on a damp MF Towel and wipe. Nothing but slick shine and hydrophobic love. Awesome stuff.
 
We recommend using Reload ,Echo2, Gliss or Hydro Lite on our coatings , we dont recommend other brands which we dont know what is the chemical composition used in it.
 
Is Hydro2 supposed to help prevent water spotting? I'm quickly becoming a big Carpro fan. I have Ech2o, reset, reload and also Essence plus. Now, I'm reading about Hydro2 and am trying to understand all the different applications. I have read several posts referring to reload being fussy to use. I found it extremely easy to use, and great looking results. I have a fresh coat of UK, topped with reload. Leaving for Arizona in a couple weeks and want to load up on my maintenance supplies. I'll be away from my normal wash bay at home, so I'll be rinseless and waterless washes only. Long road trips and road grime with limited resources will be the norm for the next 6 weeks. I am expecting these products to make things easier for me.

The mix ratio that TTQ just quoted is what I was wondering about. That is what I plan to use while we are away from home. The good thing is that my truck is white, usually isn't subject to water spotting. But, driving day after day that far, sometimes you hit rain and you just have to let things go for a couple days.

Unfortunately waterspots are commin in coated cars especially if living in a hard water area, i tend to go over it with a quick detailer like ech20 mixed with distilled water which does the job. And mix 2oz of reload into it too!

Reload seems to make the chrome look really good. As I was putting it over the CK it would get on the bumper. As I wiped it off, the chrome looked great. Would this be an effective winter sealant/protectant?

Yes but people’s longevity can vary on it. I would reapply after 3-4 weeks if you get the chance with the weather

Applied reload a few days ago and have found that the best practice is to spray onto a plush microfiber cloth and wipe in linear lines before buffing with another mf cloth. This way i have found that it doesnt leave any hazing. Also i find it best to use once a month (especially in winter) as it keeps the protection topped up and the car and coating looking like new.

Thank you for your support, Hydro2 will not help preventing water spotting, its also sio2 base, Hydro2 is concentrated formula, you need to dilute it with water, you can do it in high power dilution 1:6 , or lower 1:10 for shorter sealing application , still durable enough.
