Hello guys!
First of all, please, don't judge me =O

After my last detailing session on one of my own cars, I left all my pads uncleaned for a long long time. A long long time is 2 years.
Why? I was on vacations, on a rented house by the lake, I had the time, I did the job and finished right before going back home. I put everything on plastic bags and went back to the routine... for 2 years.

Now I want to start over again. Cant live without detailing my car.
I've started to clean them. It was a single layer red paint BMW, so you can imagine how red all my pads are.
I've soaked them in hot water, then applied an APC and left it sitting.
My main question is if the pads are still usable.
Thanks :props:

Only you can answer your question, use them and see what happens.

My gut says - Trash.....

I wouldn't chance it - Even with soaking them - too much time for the polishes and extra paint to harden.

While pads are not cheap - they aren't worth a repaint cost....:dunno:

As you said, you want to start over again. You can try to wash them clean w/ Tornado (PBW) or other but how many pads are you talking about?

IMO, get a 6pack or 2 of pads (NEW) and carry-on. Maybe you can save the old ones, maybe not but how much time/$$ is it worth, esp if you scratch
up the paint? Penny-wise/Pound-foolish

Agree - trash them. Pads aren't expensive enough to try to save.
