CSL or Cosmic V2

From your experience which gave the best look? If you had to put them in order of gloss 1-3 with 1 being the highest.

I can't pick one over the other, they all are excellent choices, but vary in durability. Buy them all LOL.......:buffing:

Great am buying all 3.

So far this thread has only been PA, not a single comment on CSL.

I personally don't like the finicky side of coatings. That's just me and my personal choice.

CSL is what I put on my customer's cars. I, however, have no desire to put a multi year coating on my own car. If I did it would be CSL. I think it is a great all around performer that isn't prohibitively expensive either.

How you finding the look of CSL?

I do like it. Just a slight darkening effect and very glossy. Great metallic flake pop with a glow about it. I feel that it gives a sense of optical depth to the clear coat. You can tell there is something on the car. More so than what C1 did.

From my fellow detail pals who have used both, Cosmic V2 for looks and CSL for swirl resistance and durability as its harder and thicker.

I have csl+exo(varying between exo v2 and v3 toppers depending in panel)and pa cosmic (color matched v1 in hood and v2 on other areas) on my SRT
Water behavior wise, the exo beads more by a few degrees

Cosmic v2 is 108 degree ctc angle, 115+ with Cosmic Spritz on top

Exov3 is 7h and I believe close to 120 degree angle (2h if exov2-which beads a little better) though so you'll risk marring your top coat, which happened to me vs not micromarring the 9h cosmicv2

Looks wise I'll take cosmic all day.

This is a fresh coat of spritz on my 92k mile factory painted hood (with color matched cosmic v1 under)

I may not post much here but I have a couple of their products :) and have been actively testing your exact posted question for almost a year.

PA stuff is awesome. The Master Sealant with the High Gloss spray is the best my own has ever looked. I was so reluctant to try any products due to the cost. I just wish their polishes and primer polishes were cheaper.

Please share your findings from the past year on both mentioned products.

Yeah I was told Master Sealant is the best sealant there is by those that have used most out there.

to do so I'd have to link a couple threads from Autopia and I'm not sure if that's ok but to sum it all up :

If you're looking for best looks I'd go with Cosmic as opposed to CSL+EXO

if you're looking for ridiculous water behavior and a candied look (from the csl) that you can somewhat tint further with exo toppers, then go with CSL EXO

considering you said you polish once a year I wouldn't go with Either if I were you.. id get contour and a carnaubaflockencreme wax for your color and top it with Gold Zirkon or Viking spritz if you have any metallic flake (especially yellow or gold flake) OR top it with high gloss if you want pure bright shine or one of their color specific spray waxes if you want more saturation

How about Carnaubaflockencreme Famous for all colours as opposed to a specefic colour?

While I have used CSL, I used C2V3 on top. This combo, for me, was lacking 8n the self cleaning area (water spots after rain)

Oddly, about 3 months in, CSL began to stay cleaner on it's own, perhaps when c2v3 wore off?

Have heard EXO on top changes water behavior significantly but generally not a fan of top coats of that nature, they tend to improve hydrophobics of base coating at the expense of being more prone to marring.

Used Gyeon Syncro a while back (Mohs + Skin topcoat). Water behavior is fantastic, beads almost move around like little drops of Mercury, very little breath of air will shoot 'em across the hood, but I *think* the surface is more prone to marring than Mohs alone.

May still try CSL + EXO at some point, dunno. Have nearly bit on PA Cosmic as well, but longevity experiences seem to vary. While I certainly don't need a 3-5 year coating on my daily driver, getting to 2 years in reasonably good shape (not perfect) would be nice.

Famous is great. Is a very wet look. I did a red mustang with it last year and I was very impressed.

Yeah I been told CSL loses slickness and marrs easily with Exo, it works best on its own.

You sold me at very wet look.

I went with Cosmic V2, Carnaubaflockencreme SnowWhite, Master Sealant, can’t wait to try them.

Did you get the kit with Cosmic v2? The Invicible Primer is the primer that get you that last finish. I would consider to ad that if you didnt get the kit.

I will be apply Esclate Lotion primer and Master Sealant and topp it up with High Gloss after a while. Have it at home since the christmas sale and waiting for the wheather allows me to do it. The garage is unheated and now it's snowing again here in Sweden. But a couple of weeks more and hope it's been warm enough to do this.

Looking forward to what you think about Polish Angel.

Looking forward to results as well...really wanna try PA Stuff at some point

I really like CSL + EXO or CSL straight for the straight glass look and then top with esscence plus once in a while to change look to a warmer nuba look. The PA stuff look good. I have not tried but would in heart beat
