Need Tire Shine Recommendations

My Jeep has 33" tires with big lugs. I use opti-bond diluted 1:1 with a spray gun.
You can adjust the shine with a second coat.
After soaking in for awhile I wipe around the lugs with a foam applicator.
I previously used Stoners More Shine but was a bit messy.

what kind of spray gun do you use?

Optimum spray gun. I am still searching for the best air pressure but I'm close.
About 70 psi for opti-bond and 50 psi for barebones on the fender welds.

Try out Griots Black Satin aerosol, or Black Shine aerosol, there's a learning curve to the application but it's a great product. I used to use a spray gun to apply OptiBond but using an aerosol is so much easier.

I use CarGuys tire shine, which gives tires a clean/satin finish. Also I haven't noticed any issues with sling.

I like the look of the Black Shine. Was overspray easy to get off? I have black wheels with a bit of lip on them and don't want spots.

Yes it wipes right off, but if you apply it close and in short quick bursts, you wont get overspray. Black Shine is very easy to over apply and is a very heavy/greasy formula, but it looks great. You can use very very little of black shine and get a high gloss. Black Satin is not heavy or greasy and dries to the touch, whereas Black Shine stays wet. Black Satin can also be layered for higher gloss. I'm a huge fan of both of them now that I'm applying it correctly.

Black Satin below...

One thing I'm definitely looking for is something that dries to the touch. Too many times, I have tried squeezing by my truck in the garage and bump my leg on a tire and get that greasy crap on my pants! lol

Carpro perl is probably the best you are going to find IMO. Hyper dressing is great and much more economical as well, but I personally prefer PERL. I think it keeps the tire black longer but it does depend on the tire.

If you don't have one of these contoured foam blocks I highly recommend getting one to use with carpro perl. I've tried everything and this is the quickest, cleanest, and fastest application for PERL & Hyper dressing. I think AG sells something similar to this.

Agreed 100%.

I know a lot of guys don't like PERL on tires, but I love it. Like you said, an applicator is a must. I have Goodyear Wrangler HP's on my truck, and the PERL plays very well with the rubber.

The wife's Wrangler has Bridgestones, and I will admit the PERL looks a bit more "glossy" initially upon application.

IME, it lasts just a little longer on the GY HP's as well.

I threw out 303's new Tire Balm earlier but couldn't really get into to much as I was at a light at work, but now I'm on lunch. This is a true tire coating, despite what the name says. When applied it has that bluish/purple tint you get with other tire coatings out there and the finish is totally controllable and the besides that, the best part, IT DOESN'T SLING, NO WAY, NO HOW! Once you lay down a good base coat, to a cleaned tire, you may need to apply a 2nd coat but that's to be expected as some tires soak it in while others, not as much. In real world driving, you can expect a solid month (or more) out of this product. The price is very competitive as well. I know its a new product and there isn't alot out there about it but FWIW I guarantee your going to like THIS product!!

(SIGH)........... Now I have to try this, Rog. LOL

Tire foam doesn’t behave like anything you typically spray. If you’ve ever used a foaming carpet cleaner just think of how it goes exactly where you want it to. It’s very neat.
Have to agree. I don't use it on lower profile tires, but for truck or suv tires it's my preference. It's all I use on my wife's suv and it leaves a nice uniform shine, zero sling and it a breeze to apply.

Klasse, last week I purchased two bottles of 303 Tire Balm based upon your review. They arrived yesterday. Can't wait till the rain stops sometime next week, so that I can try it.

I'm sure I won't be disappointed!

Great!

Just give the tires a good scrub and let them dry. Looking forward to your impressions!!

I ordered some too with the last sale. Got an email saying it was out of stock and would ship in 7 days.

Ditto. 3 bottles (cannot go wrong for the sale price along w/ the 20% coupon), basically 3 for 1.

Gold Eagle is all over this and the wheels are in motion! I understand the rush to buy it t 50% off, who wouldn't buy once it's back to regular price I suggest picking up a bottle, it's really a great product, priced very fairly and 100% American made, even the bottle and packaging
