Anyone watch youtube detailers?

Does anyone watch youtube detailers? I watch white details every chance I get and I think he is one of the best detailers out there. The attention to detail not only on his paint correction but the way he preps his cars before and during details is pretty amazing.
 
I watch quite a few of them like Pan the Organizer, Ammo NYC, Dallas Paint Correction and Detail Groove. They all have different techniques and products but they all achieve the same result.
 
Only Mike P's videos any more. I don't have the patience to watch most if they are more than few minutes.

I watch these also, plus some obsessed garage, but his are usually too long for me.

I watch all the youtubers that you have mentioned and have learned a great deal from them. What about auto fetish detail?

If you ever get the patience to, watch white detail. Very entertaining detail videos!
 
SiempreCharlo and FelipeTV are a couple of high end detailers that come to mind...
 
I have found that Mr. Mike Phillips’ articles,
and their accompanying photos, are pre-
sented in such a well-written and self-explan-
atory manner, that I’ve only viewed a select
few of his/AGO YT videos—to make sure I’ve
correctly picked-up on subtleties.


•IMO:
-What few detailing videos I’ve seen from
other YouTube detailers have been prime
examples of plagiarism; or graffiti.

-Waste of my time; I’d rather go with
“the original”.

Sandro at Car Craft Auto Detailing chanel is a great one. Then The Forensic Detailing Chanel I started waching when I took up on detailing a year ago. Like the thorough reviews and their humor. Have been slowing down looking at to many of the chanels. Then I have problems looking at some chanels sometimes. Cause some has the know it all sense when they trying to make a point. I like when they step out of their comfort zone and try new things. And see it in a bigger picture and not only their ways of doing it. But to a wider view on which situations some products can work. Some see it only in their environment and in a business point of view.

If you want to look into one that do alot of reviews of products and special his compound testing is awesome. Is the Apex Detailing chanel.

Apex Detailing compares compounds and rates them according to cut which is great in theory but his tests have a few major flaws. For one he tests on different painted panels so some compounds conveniently breeze though and a receive a get out of jail free card as they tested on a panel with softer paint. Another flaw is most heavy cut compounds need a heavier cut pad not a simple orange light cutting pad as they weren’t designed to excel on soft, less dense pads. Theres no consistency and hence no credibility in his tests as a result of this.

I almost forgot Mike Phillips on Autogeek channel. I think Mike’s forum threads seem to have more detail than the videos. I watch the YouTube videos more for entertainment. AGO is where the real learning takes place.
 
I watch Scott @Dallas Paint Correction and Darren Auto Fetish. I can't stand how long Darren's videos are and sometimes he can be really patronizing, but the guy has some knowledge. I also watch Kevin Kalfas who is a landscaper, but he's really sharp and knows a lot about running a business.

That same thought occurred to me this morning when I was watching his Menzerna 300 video. Once it dawned on me, I moved on..

Think I have heard him saying he uses panels with the same kind of paint on them. Sure it's flaws when doing this kind of comparison. But think you can get some baseline of the products he is testing. The consistency is that he do tests with the same polisher and pad and to panels that are about as close as you can get when useing different ones. It's not the perfect setup he does. But it would be way more confuseing if he where to use different polishers and different pads. I would made one more pass when he does the first set. 2 passes even with that slow armspeed he has seems to be to few.

Which compound brands excells with a more dence pad?
What setup would be more fair to do to get to see what different compounds has the ability to do?
 
I watch them all. For some reason did not make me an expert though. Props to all those guys.
 
I tend to favor the guys that are on the forefront of the industry. Obsessed Garage, and Ammo NYC are great for that. They feature individuals like Jason Rose, Kevin Brown, Michael Stoops, Mike Pennington, Jason Kilmer, Andy Ward, etc - who not only seem like stand up personalities, but are legitimate entities in the industry, whose work is innovative and cutting edge.

I also really love Forensic Detail. Out of all of them, Jon has the most endearing personality, and is very objective despite his preferences. Also, he has great expressions, and a penchant for humor.

Junkman2000 is another one I visit for old times sake. Another humorous guy.

Apex and Dallas are ok. Their biases kind of leave a bad taste though. I have to reduce it to a difference in philosophy and approach.

Car Craft is pretty good, very impartial, but also a very, very different approach to polishing in particular. These guys have me wanting to make video tutorials of my own, but I just hate the camera....

Simple, test them all on the same panel,same pad,machine.speed etc.

The sanding passes also is aggressive on the products he didn’t have on the podium as opposed to those that are on. I picked up too many inconsistencies. How hard is it to test all on one panel? I have done the exact same tests but was fair/unbiased as I tested on a really large panel and can tell you that thus far nothing has toppled CarPro Clear Cut, especially not Angelwax Resurrection as he has it.
