(It is my (and wifes) honest opinion FWIW)
Product Name: Optimums Opti-Seal

Product Container:
Came in a clear plastic 8oz bottle

Product Labeling:
Like most boutique products it's pretty direct and to the point. Clear directions (black and white) and product and company info very visible.

Product Characteristics: Clear liquid (water)

Product Performance:
Very very easy to use (WOWA) and works as described simply apply and walk away. I literally did the entire car in less then 10 minutes. During a time crunch Opti-seal (or the like) can get the job done without question. It is not slick however my fingers and back of hand did not glide across the paint it dragged a bit more then I like. I will feel it tomorrow to see if it improves, I will say that my PB DMT Orange MF towel did glide with zero drag what so ever. Weird since I felt the paint right where the towel went over and my fingers did not glide it somewhat dragged but the towel glided. Hope that makes since. It did not streak at all applying it into a PB DMT towel and working each panel.

Product Price:
$25 for an 8oz bottle, says 1oz can do 4-5 cars (doesn't specify size of cars[small/Med/Caddy baby]).

Product Safety:
Don't spray directly into face or mouth and your good.

Conclusion: It's absolutely the easiest product I have ever used and application is a breeze. It leaves the paint with a hard candy like shine and absolutely brings any flakes out of hiding. It's a unique product as it doesn't look wet in the sun it's more reflective then anything. But in the shade it has more of a wetness but you can still see the hard candy like shine. With my reviews I like to get my wife involved since she is 100% unbiased. Before giving her my thoughts I wanted to hear hers. First thing she noticed was the flakes popping, I asked her to try and compare it to all the other LSP's she's seen. The closest she said it looked like was DP MaxWax due to the flakes popping. She couldn't described the shine so I told her what I thought, she then saw what I saw and agreed (I asked her twice if she was sure and said yes).
Here's the paint bare (cleaned with JW Prime Strong)

I know there is not much difference in the pictures but I could see the hard candy shine right away. I wasn't able to get sun shots in, I didn't realize how fast the sun sets now that winter is approaching. By 3pm the suns going down so I only have low light shots

Also I did use OS on my white rims 2 weeks ago and haven't washed it since. I must say it has done a great job keeping some of the brake dust and grime off the rims and they still have a great shine even dirty. Remember it's been 2 weeks since applied and cleaned (swiped my finger across to show the difference trust me thats good)
IMG_0195Medium.jpg

Still has a good shine
IMG_0196Medium.jpg

And some beading
IMG_0197Medium.jpg

Just a blast of water knocked out some dirt and a lot of the water just beaded and dripped right off right away.
Now would I recommend this product? Yes and No
The No part is due to the low slickness, when I reach for the door handle of my car I love to feel how smooth it is. I'm sure paying customers would love to feel the same. Now if it gets slicker the next day I'll retract this statement but for now it stays. The Yes part is on light colors (using my rims here) this would be a good product to use, and if you have flakes this really made them dance in the light (when i had light) and it's ease of use and time saving design. I hate doing rims being bent over cleaning the rims then apply X product then going back to remove just aggravates my back. Eliminated the 3rd trip is a plus for me and my back. Any questions & opinions welcomed.
Edit:Slickness has improved
quit a bit over 24 hrs.

Really enjoyed reading your review wytstang. It's like getting a good look at what this product is like. I've never wanted to try this product until now and now I'd like to give it a go. Pics were great.

Been using OS as my lsp for 6 weeks. Have 4 coats on. Slickness is great, better than a nuba.

Definitely adds protection, no doubt about that. You'll see beading for a long time. I agree about the "candy coating" shine it offers.....it's a different shine, different than anything I've used or seen. Tomorrow, hit it with some FK425 or Crystal Mist for some additional slickness.

I tried OS this summer. Pleased with results. Slickness definitely increased after 24 hours. Additional coats improved it. Very easy to apply.

Don't know about durability, cause I kept re-applying. One good thing is that it (to my surprise) can be applied over a carnauba...

Switched to 476 + PW for winter protection, though...

Try the FK425 you'll be wowed, smooth as silk.

what is 425? I just orders some dg 921, but this stuff sounds interesting, might have to put it in my next order.

I had this on my black Dakota. I agree that the product beads like crazy and the words "candy shine" are appropriate. I ended up toppingf mine with a pure Carnuaba (had some Mothers) to get it darker but I can see how many like the look.

What color is the Fusion? Dark Blue Metallic?

Seems to be low on the slickness part on my end compared to say WG DGS even EX-P it's just not that slick.

It's definitely a different shine thats for sure.

I hope so if not I'll give it another layer and see what it does. I was hoping for a WG DGS feel or Souveran type slickness so I was a bit disappointed in that area.

Correct

Thanks for sharing Wytstang! WOWA.. really that is outstanding! The shine looks very nice! WOWA... now that sounds like something that will not kill my arms! :D

Very easy on the arms. Also good for the middle of winter for some quick protection that doesn't take long to apply.

Thanks for review, Wytstang. I used Opti-Seal on gf's BMW (black) and had no streaks. You are right, it's so easy and almost fool proof. I love this stuff.:righton:

Nice review Wytstang. THanks a lot :D. Looks like it did a great deal on the wheels when it comes to keeping the brake dust from sticking to the wheel itself.

Nice review. I've used OS a few times now. I've found that application is IMMENSELY improved by using a MF applicator instead of a foam applicator. It's a night and day difference.

I'm retracting my low slickness comment it has in fact improved in 24 hrs.

I also use a smaller MF pad to apply OS and I like the ease and results.

In addition to thin coats, I learned by trial and error that the lightest pressure is the way to apply OS.

If I may share one more thing: I apply to a panel, work it to full coverage. Then I immediately go back over it -- with even lighter pressure and at a faster pace to increase air flow/friction. This seems to help the OS to flash off or evaporate. More importantly, it mitigates streaking and splotching.

My experience exactly...

:iagree:with your application technique. Next time try letting the first coat sit for an hour or so and then go over with light pressure with faster movement. Your paint will pop.

Thanks for the tip re: Sitting for an hour. I'll give it a try!
