This past weekend I did a maintenance detail on the black Denali that I polished with HD Speed 4 weeks prior.
So it’s been 4 weeks and pretty much everything that was good about HD Speed was no longer around. For example the beading was all but gone on the horizontal panels,
And the beading that was there on the vertical panels was nothing to write home about... The paint had lost all of its initial smoothness [trying to dry the vehicle without a drying aid was not going to happen] And worst of all, the hood had somehow developed etching all over it in the form of what looked like water spots.
It was kind of hard to take a picture of them.
I was able to remove them about 85% by using a claybar.
But not good enough to make me happy, so I had to break out the polisher w/M205 to get the paint back to perfect.. This experience has me thinking I should’ve never trusted HD Speed to protect [even in the short term]
So my question: Is it ok to top HD Speed with a sealant immediately after polishing with it? I think I’ve heard people say they like to use this in place of a normal polish, so what’s the official word? And no I’m not about to do an IPA wipedown after I polish, so that would be out of the question.
