Also, isn't it just silly and totally defeats the purpose of an AIO if you need to top it with something? You're far better off using a good polish and a sealant.

I say I don't understand why people like it so much because of my personal and extensive history with the product. Also M205 is a far different horse than Speed so it's really not that comparable, although it might seem to be at first glance. M205 was always good and worked as advertised, actually better since day one. I can't say the same about Speed, in all my testing of it, it never performed as advertised at all. I've had these same arguments many times over about 7 or 8 years ago when Speed first came out, it's crazy how the same things pop up again.

Why top a coating? Isn't that silly?

Why layer products? Isn't that silly?
AIO's are designed to fit a certain segment of the detailing landscape.
So I don't understand the need to bash a product or a product segment.
This isn't directed towards anyone, just an observation from my time on the forum.
Is there something with the limited cut (to save the clear coat) of an AIO that can be used to polish marring and cleaning road film?
Products I've used after polishing with HD Speed that have lasted at least 6 months.

I don't think anyone is trying to bash a product or product segment. In my mind an AIO is just that, a one step polish and sealant/wax in one product and process. I feel if someone is going to do another step (sealant) in addition to an AIO, you would get better results and longevity from a dedicated polish step first and then apply a good sealant. AIO products do serve a good purpose for certain situations.
I think the general makeup of an AIO had shortcomings all around. Less cut than a polish, less protection than a sealant. Honestly other than time savings I see no advantage in an AIO at all.
At with that, I'm checking out on this thread, later................
If you can't comprehend or understand why AIO's exist for you are completley missing the point, which is obvious by our above post. That's exactly why they exist. A little polish, a little cut and a little protection.
You should really read before replying. The purpose of an AIO is to save time, which is exactly what i said.
What ever guys, get over the AIO issue, go detail something.
.....I am. I just finished giving my car a bucket wash and now I’m going to give it a quik clay with the towel. Not because it needs it, but because I think I may have screwed up another clay towel by having it on my detail cart this past weekend while I was doing that Denali. Clay towel was laying in direct sunand now look at it.

Once I’m done testing the clay towel I’m going to do something I never thought I’d ever do again... Polish my car with an AIO.lol.
Lol...
Try moderate arm movements and just 4 section passes and move on. Throw out the flashlight!
You might like it better since it going to be sooo fast.

Honestly the only reason I use AIOs even though I usually put something on top is because it's so much easier when you can do the whole car before wiping. I'm not aware of a straight up polish you can let dry like that.
Agreed but I only really do my own car which I've already done a full correction on so I'm only looking to clean up super light wash marring every few months. Doesn't really matter to me if one part of the car is 91% corrected and another is 93%. I'm just looking for something quick and easy!
