I'm still a relatively novice detailer. I'm not in any business and this applies to personal vehicles of mine. I also have a full time job and 3 kids under the age of 5. So... time is precious. Not looking to replace all my stuff, most is still pretty full.

My rides

09 Pontiac G8GT
15 Ford Explorer Limited
16 Chevy Silverado LT Z71

I've detailed the pontiac twice now and the explorer once.

Here's what I've done and i'm hoping for thoughts and advice. And I realize that everyone has their opinions and preferences, so I'm really more curious about major flaws or improvement areas.

Porter cable 7424

Pontiac
wash
clayed once, didn't the other... didn't notice a difference
CCS white pad menzerna SF 4000 polish
CCS finishing pad menzerna powerlock sealant

Ford
wash
white pad i think. poorboys polish and sealant AIO (not too impressed)

I'm gearing up to do all 3 over the next month. The chevy is a lease so looking for an AIO for her as well as the explorer. I also have some menzerna pf400 and orange pads, but all vehicles are in good shape. Wondering if I should add a carnuba?

thoughts?

I used a Porter Cable for many years and was perfectly happy with it until I picked up a used Flex 3401 on Craigslist a few months ago. You don't know what you're missing with a more powerful DA. The flex with a purple wool pad, and FG400 is a HUGE time saver.

I wouldn't mess around with Carnuba as it has no longevity. Have you tried Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint sealant? I've been using that for a couple months now on my personal cars and customer cars and have been very impressed with the ease of application and the longevity of it.

Ditch the Poorboy's AIO and get a bottle of HD Speed.

Also, you are using more than one pad per car, right?

more than one per car? I do use pad cleaner, reconditioner and a tool.
