No Check, No more work!

Sorry, I have to rant....:D

I have a contract with a Real Estate Company. I get a check at the end of every month for doing their vehicles.
99% of the time, I turn in the bill about 1/2-1 week early so I can get my check in a timely manner.

Well, I still have not been paid for October yet, and here we are WELL into November. I turned the bill in like I always do, a week early. I keep getting told the check will be written out tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. I went last Monday to pick it up, only to be told it will be ready Friday. WTH.

Friday comes, I go in, no check. Saturday, no check. Today, no check. I got fed up today. I told the secretary, whom says sorry to me all the time, even though it has nothing to do with her, to call and ask where my check was. She did, no answer.

I told her to tell him that I will not be doing their cars until I get my check, and now, I need the check at the beginning of the month before work is started. (I wash 4 every week)

I am tired of getting called 2-3 times a week to wash cars, even though I washed them already that week. Then ever get a check to top it off. I have been doing their cars for about a year and a half now.....

Sorry, I am just pissed off and had to rant.:mad:

Understand. It sounds like a company in trouble. Hope you get it.
Different subject, did you ever get your money from the GI that bought your generator?

Trust me, they aren't in any kind of financial matter. lol

I didn't update the thread about the bounced check? I got the money finally. I'll update the thread later on...
 
Thats just sad.....hate that "Yull get it tomorrow" B.S

Hope you sort it out with them, sounds like they got some work for you and it would be bad loosing them as customers i guess..
 
Considering the market, they pry don't have any money lol. Do you know what their current sales are for properties? That would give you an idea of whether money is there or not.
 
As Surfer offered, they are "all" in trouble and the perks have stopped quickly in that industry in hopes to keep the business above board.

I did get a hold of him today. Said he will get me the check tomorrow when I come in.

Why am I not holding my breath?

Does this mean you are going to get the check in person, not mailed to you?
I hope so. Go directly to the bank prior to doing any more vehicles of theirs.
Sit down with a bank honcho and confirm the check is good. It is? Now go take care of the vehicles.
 
I always get the check in person. It is usually right up front for me to grab.
 
That really sucks I hope it gets resolved and fast. If not, do a final wash with some special product, hint it comes out the rear! j/k Again I hope it all gets fixed up.
 
Sorry to hear about that .definition of a customer some one who pays you for your services if they dont there a pain in the a...e and should be treated acordingly.
 
I work for a billon dollar company. People (mom and pop companies) call all the time wanting their money. Payable accounts have a 45 day to 90 day turn around to pay. We get served from the sheriff department all the time.

Anyhoo, I think Surfer hit the nail on the head....
 
Chris did you check on their inventory or sales? Should give you an idea of where they stand financially, if their moving properties or sitting on inventory etc. These were the guys with H2's and all that right? Somethings fishy if they haven't paid yet and I wouldn't be suprised to see them hurting. I know others in the industry that did extremely well last couple years with all their cars and houses they owned etc, now they can't even afford to go out to dinner. I mean if they had the money they'd pay plain and simple, not give you the run around.

Pretty much why I rarely ever did residential, to annoying lol.
 
If he doesnt have it, id be going to small claims court then let them pay me for the jobs, my time afer the payment is due and attorney fees. Ask him which he prefers to pay.
 
eh, I finally got paid today.

I walked into the office and he handed me his keys. I handed them back and told him I cannot do the vehicles until I receive payment for the previous month. He had the check printed up and gave it to me.

He then asked me if I could do the cars, which I told him not today. I then walked out.......
I'll try to do them tomorrow, or the day after, maybe after Thanksgiving.... I dunno. Maybe make them wait 20 days like I had to...lol
