So I hadn't washed the car since Monday, slackin' over here and decided to clean up the car and it needed it. Picked up my buddy Hectour, threw his freshly powder coated rims in the trunk and headed down to Joliet (no, I didn't see the Blues Brothers anywhere, LOL) to get get some new shoes put on them. We also met our buddy Kevin down there who was getting new rims on his Fusion. Not to be left out of the fun I got my tires rotated and balanced while I was there, a car guys day for sure!
Once we were done we headed to Doc's Smokehouse in Mokena, big surprise...BBQ! After a tasty lunch we headed back, but not before playing some "door tag" with Kevin's Fusion. His car has a tune, intake and exhaust...mine is stock, let's just say I have some work to do but I wasn't embarrassed. Tale of the tape:
Fusion stock is 237 hp, don't know the torque off the top of my head, but it's a 2.0L EcoBoost w/ICE (Intake/Computer/Exhaust)
Elantra Sport is a 1.6L turbo w/201 hp and 195 lb ft of torque...stock!
So anywho onto the cleaning here. I hadn't used AMMO NYC Frothe in quite some time and actually been talking about it here lately, see how that works itself out, LOL. It did a great job as usual!
For the rims I used Auto-Fanatic foaming wheel cleaner at the 6 oz ratio, foamed all 4 wheels and then came around and rinsed them down, no scrubbing required, doesn't hurt that their coated with 303 Touchless sealant either, such a great product. Now that the car was clean and dried it's time to "kick it up a notch!".
Once I was done I applied a coat of Beadmaker, used 2 of the nice Adam's edgeless mf towels, one to apply and one to buff, did the entire car too. Later on tonight I will come back down here and apply a coat of Hydrosilex Slick to the tires, then the car will look it's best for Calibre Cars and Coffee tomorrow morning
The 3 of us work alot of hrs and opposite hrs in Hectours case so we don't get to get together as much as we'd like but so is life. Thanks to Mother Nature for not ruining our day too
