What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Did some spot polishing of my Black XC-90. A lot of surface area on this one. Did the passenger door lips and side panels of the hood with the GG 6” with the 3” backing plate, white polishing pad from Lake Country, and the BOSS finishing sealant.
I tackled the large hood with the GG15” with the white BOSS polishing pad and the finishing sealant.

Did the final wipe with Duragloss 972.

Tried Griots Garage Spray Wax today and it is a pretty solid product! It streaked a little bit, but could have been user error since it was hotter than usual and I didnt allow the paint to fully cool off. Does add some gloss!!

which spray wax did you use? there are a few different ones...

Raining pretty steady right now. Here's a couple of beading pictures of the hood and door in the garage. Can't see it in the pictures obviously but a lot of the water is sliding right down the hood and door and when out in the rain same thing. A good bunch of the water was basically bouncing off the panels and flying off even when just sitting still.

I observed the Beadmaker on my car having "average" beading since applying a week ago, 2 washes and driving in the rain today. Just more proof of what Beadmaker does or doesn't do for you, please keep this in mind

Well, I did a full decon detail today.

Washed with Reset, Gyeon Tar remover, Iron remover (Nanolex) clayed and Nanalex SI. Car is beautiful now. Just in time for rain tomorrow. Will check that beading then.

What I did notice is how smooth the car wash after the Gyeon Tar Remover and how little iron and contaminants there were on the car - no purple color after applying the iron remover. Only got to put on one coat of the Nanalex today, but will put on a second coat later this week.
A lot of work, but kind of enjoyable.

Not technically detailing but it is to help with the detailing. I ordered weather tech mats for the wifes new suburban. Driver and pass, 2nd & 3rd two are one full piece, should help catch stuff I hope. Also got the cargo area mat and got a big/stone shield for the front. It has a lot of touch up paint spots from rock chips and with the wind and mass amounts of sand here I hope it will help.

When it comes to decons IME the tar remover does the most in the aspect of getting the need of claying to be very low. Iron remover just handle the iron particals and industrial fallout. But to go after the imbedded grime and contaminants the tar remover does the heavy lifting.

Did you noticed much on the clay in what it was picking up? And a little to no bleeding effect from the iron remover means you have a great routine of washing and your LSP is working great for you. That's what you would want to see or not see the no bleeding effect LOL.

Almost nothing on the clay. I was pleasantly surprised.
