What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Wow looks crazy good!! What’d you use on the tires and trim if anything?

Washed the Rogue and did the interior yesterday. Machine applied a fresh coat of Polish Angel Master Sealant today. This stuff is awesome!

My best friend and I did a detail on my Mother in Laws Audi Q5. I was given some nice tickets for the upcoming U of M vs Notre Dame game at the Big House, and since my MIL and FIL wouldn’t accept payment for them (they have season tickets), we detailed their Audi. Excellent trade off. It’s not every year Michigan plays Notre Dame, and my buddy was rocking ND shirts to school since we were in Elementary back in the early-mid 90s. So obviously he is getting the second ticket. We’ve been friends for around 30 years now. His favorite college team is still ND with mine being Michigan.

Products used:
My Megs DA and a polishing pad, his Griots DA and a polishing pad.
Strip wash.
Meguiars wheel and tire cleaner.
Daytona brushes, tuff shine tire brush.
Sonax fallout remover.
Megs mild clay, ONR as lube.
3D HD Speed.
Collinite 845.
Griots Black Satin tire coating.
Interior vacuumed and cleaned with Megs Quick Interior Detailer. Glass done with Stoners Invisible.

No sunlight pics, it began to rain as we finished claying, so down the garage door went.

This afternoon my wife and I tackled the interior of her Durango R/T. She pulled the WeatherTech mats, vacuumed the interior then set about scrubbing the mats. I cleaned the interior with Adam’s Leather & Interior Cleaner then treated the leather to Griot’s Garage Leather Care. The rest of the interior got Adam’s Pumpkin Spice Interior Detailer. Interior glass was cleaned using Adam’s rinseless wash before cleaning the vehicle. I used Bead Maker for LSP. Wheels and tires were cleaned with Adam’s APC diluted 5:1. CarPro Hydro 2 was the LSP on the wheels and Adam’s Tire Shine on the tires.

My 6” rain gauge overtopped about 2 AM Saturday. According to the NWS we were in the 8”+ area.

This weekend I received a new Wheel and Tire cleaner from Colorado. I had some fun comparing it to my favorite tire cleaners and took a few photos that I posted on Autopia (non-PBMG discussion). Bottom line-- I suspected Tuf Shine was a good tire cleaner and now I've proven that to myself. This new cleaner from Colorado is just as good on rubber and also good on wheels.

I've got some IGL and Gyeon on the way from AG. Can't wait to compare them all.

Washed the GTI real quick. Wheels, tires and wheel wells foamed with Brake Buster and rinsed. Car washed with Carpro Reset. Always such a joy to use. Dried with a towel not told here and use Sonax BSD 1•1 as a drying aid. Tires dressed with PERL.

Took a trip from South Florida to Central Florida this weekend and collected some bugs on the way. Spent Sunday morning cleaning the ride. Watching these pics, I’m beginning to understand why my wife shakes her head so often when it comes to me and my detailing... in the pics it really does not look that bad. But in person, i just can’t get to the hose fast enough...!

Some before and after:

Getting to those pesky door jambs.

Got it done before the sun intruded into my workspace.

I used Wolfgang Trim Sealant. Love that stuff. Gyeon Tire on the tires.

Thanks! Guess that’s another trim product to try out, I hear nothing but good things and looking to try something new.

Btw do you have 2 new Rav 4’s!? I thought I was losing my marbles seeing you post a dark blue one and this silver one!

Lol!!! Yes, my wife and I bought Rav4s on the same day. The salesman looked at us like we were crazy lol. Hers is the Gray one and I have the Blue one.

Wolfgang trim sealant is awesome! I'm conducting a comparison with it and another Trim sealant that is not offered at AG.

Parked the Ranger under an elm tree on a job the other day. Result being the whole thing peppered with tiny little drops of sap

Finally got some time to clean it all off this afternoon. Firstly snow foamed with NV Snow and allowed to soak before rinsing and following up with a contact wash with the same NV Snow. Used Meguiar's Last touch as a drying aid.
