What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Day Off Detailing.

Maintenance wash for the XE and my Fathers Ranger.

The Ranger was detailed 6 weeks ago, in that time the drivers seat has accumulated grime so needed some extra attention today.

Today also gave me an opportunity to try out my new Stoners Invisible Glass Reach and Clean Tool.

This tool makes reaching into the extremities of the glass so much easier. A no-brainer addition to the tool chest.

Wildtrack all clean again, knowing my father it won't be for long though!

DFB...looking mint as usual.

Today I waxed my Jeep, it’s now protected for summer. Finish Kare 1000P was my choice. First time using it and I really like it. Very easy to use. My Jeep needs compounded for sure (bought it CPO fall of 2018), but still haven’t got around to it. That’s ok, this does see rugged terrain.

Bumpers and tires got 303 applied to them. I don’t normally dress the tires on my Jeep, just usually clean them.

Nice job. Wow I'm slow I didn't know you were in PA. By standard I'm not supposed to like you because that means you're a Steelers fan and I'm with the Ravens Nation but I'll let it slide this time lol

Raven Nation... I haven't watched football in 5 years and I know there's only one "nation" and they're well represented on COPS, NWA videos and the like

Don’t worry, I don’t follow football, but if I did I’m Eagles green baby :coolgleam:
I’m just outside Philly.

Monica, sorry about that sweep in the 1997 Cup finals of the Flyers, we just weren't going to be denied that year

I prepped my car for a new coat of wax for when it gets here today. I did a wipe down with N-914 to make sure it is a nice clean surface.
This will be the 1st time I have put wax/sealant on my car in about 4 years.

Tried a couple of new products over the past few days with good results initially.

Few days ago I tried out Meguiars 39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner. I needed/wanted something that would really clean up rubber trim and have heard good things about it so I cleaned up my rubber trim around the windows on the GTI and it worked really great. Good solid product.

Today I tried McKees 37 Si02 Ceramic Wheel Sealant. For those of you who don't know it's an AIO product. Supoosed to be able to remove some minor swirls and lay down some Si02 protection.

Application was super easy. Went on and off very well. Removed some of the minor imperfections on the gloss black parts of the wheels. Doesn't smell very good, i don't believe it's scented so it's just a fairly strong chemical scent. Not an issue for me but could be for some

Can't speak to protection yet of course. Added a noticeable amount of gloss and slickness and as I said removed some minor swirls. Overall good solid product assuming decent durability.

EDIT
I also applied the ceramic wheel sealant to the exhaust tips. Forgot to add that.

Tried the new Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax after a Wolfgang waterless wash. Not much of a difference to me except it seems slightly easier to work with and the new spray bottle is great. I guess I’ll see when it rains and how long it lasts. Also shined up the tip on my Borla axleback. Tires are way overdue for a treatment, probably get to them on Father’s Day when I have another free hour or so. Lol

Hadn't washed the car since Sat night and the pollen/dust was showing its head, so I did a foam/soak/rinse with the IK 1.5 using 303 carwash soap, really great product in a sea of "good" products out there I used the same soap to clean the tires/wheels too, should've been doing this all along and saved the designated foaming wheel cleaners for when they are REALLY dirty.

I'm going on 2.5 weeks with the coating so its ofcoarse doing its thing, man the beads are so small and tight!

***EDIT***

I had a slight high spot so since I just got my vented 5" backing plate directly from Griot's Garage today (replaced my 8 year old 6" backing plate that blew up...for FREE) and I got myself some new 5" orange BOSS pads, as well as some 5" BOSS mf pads too, I decided to try it out.

I reached for some 303 Compound, prepped the pad and got after it. The first thing I noticed was how much easier the pad spun AND additional control, WOW, am I ever late to the game I worked it in really good and removed the product, no dust and this is a compound, LOVE THIS STUFF! At this point your assuming I re-applied the TAC System Power Plus Sio2 paint coating.....NOPENot because I dont like it but I'm testing a future graphine paint coating and after doing that "Gold Rush" edition Scion xB last weekend I was blown away, so not apply it here and see how it goes It goes on so nice, applied in cross hatch pattern, let haze and wiped off...no drama whatsoever

Well it's time to hit the shower and go to bed, thanks for looking

I spent the day fixing the dealer's abuse. I have no idea what they wash these cars with, but good lord the clear was horrific. Nothing GG FCC cant fix. Topped it off with Infinity Wax Syngery Wax. Ehh it is ok. I'll most likely strip it and try something else.
