What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Seven Hills is nice, still too close to Cleveland for me though. I've worked in Cleveland's inner city for almost 30 years, and while for a time it was getting "better," but now with today's political and socio-economical climate, it's gotten far worse than it ever was. I can retire in less than a year and a half, and I can honestly say, once I do, Cleveland (Cuyahoga County in general) will never see my fat backside again.

I would like to get out of Cuyahoga too, the taxes get so much better in every direction you head. By a lot. Our next house will be in the country. I want to retire with land and no neighbors visible from my front yard. Ideally. Grew up in Middlefield, so it was an adjustment to move to the city but I was tired of the one hour commute to Swagelok everyday.

The only time I find myself "downtown" is when I am giving tours at the Cod. I'll be "downtown" this Saturday getting my boat fix.

Last hose and bucket wash of the season. DIY car wash(i.e. pre-wash) and rinless for the next 4-6 months. It was 'filthy' (use that term loosly). I also plan to put the winter treads on this weekend, so I wanted to get the wheels clean for storage.

Can’t ride in a dirty car to Thanksgiving dinner. This is on my wife’s Acadia. No before pics, but mats were very dirty. Any blotchy areas are just the slightest bit damp. I took this picture immediately upon completion. Exterior of vehicle is wet from the rain, as we drove down the road to my MILs for a bit. So the “dots” on the passenger side dash and door panel are shadows of the water drops on the glass. I had to disclose that lol.

Vacuumed.
LATA to scrub/clean the floor mats.
Meguiars quick interior detailer on dash, steering wheel, door panels, kick panels etc.
Blackfire Leather Complete on the seats.

Cleaned interior with Adam’s interior detailer. Stoners for the inside glass.

Clayed exterior windshield and applied Griots Glass Sealant.

Cleaned Husky floor matts with LATA.

Saw a video recently where Adam’s used there spray graphene coating for all weather matts.

Haven’t found a protectant i’ve been impressed with including WeatherTech’s so thought i’d give it a shot.

Came out nice. Darkened a little bit and gave the worn spots a uniform look.

Recommend if you’ve got this and some all weathers give it a try.

Did two coats 24 hours apart and then topped with Shine Supply clutch after 24 hours. It works on bed liners and the Husky exact contours are more like bedliners than the hard plastic like WeatherTechs.

The Clutch was beading up so leveled. Let sit for 30 mins and then a thorough wipe down. The came out great! Now to dirty them up!

We've had rain every day for the last week, lots of it, so the FJ isn't getting any love, but I noticed the Qashqai covered in a layer of dust. After lightly dusting it, I noticed a film or residue on the paint, I decided to give it a QD, used Bowden's Clean Detail, it's advertised as having anti-static properties, I guess I'll find out.

This is the first bit of detailing I've managed to do for a couple of weeks, the weather, and being employed again, have conspired against me.View attachment 74683View attachment 74684View attachment 74685View attachment 74686

I hate when my job gets in the way of my detailing!

It's a really annoying paradox, now that I can afford more good stuff, I'll have less time to enjoy it. Not to mention it's quite a physical job, so I'm reasonably tired after work, so I'll mostly be doing stuff only on weekends.

I hate that too!

I missed my detailing therapy session this week, I think I'm having withdrawal symptoms.

NOTHING! Have 4 days off, but everyone is going to be too cold to do anything. Next Saturday looks decent tho.

But did make list of what i need to get/restock for next spring.

I feel ya !!! The temps have been on a rollercoaster. Started moving the products inside for winter :(

There's a % chance of light rain between noon and 2 p.m. but I think I'm about to head out there and RW the ES. Current temp is 31 degrees

I might have a lead to use a 40 X 60 pole barn heated this Winter...can fit 4 cars.
I'll find out first of the year, In trade for the space when available I told the guy I'l detail 2 of his cars for free.

So I rolled the and lost! Got everything out there to do a RW and when drying the first panel it started to sprinkle. I stead of quitting I finished the RW of the ES and wheel faces. I had the mini Master Blaster out there and did a quick blowing off of the mirrors, tires/wheels and grill and crevices. Atleast it's clean, right
