What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Lots of time scrubbing tires today since I got a bottle of the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions HyperFoam Wheel Cleaner and Tire Prep (holy $#!t what a name). Went through almost the whole bottle save for a few sprays.

Washed with Griot’s Brilliant Finish Car Wash. First wash I’ve done with it, but so far I greatly prefer it over Meg’s Gold Class which has been my go to for a while.

Used Griot’s Ceramic Speed Shine as my drying aid. Contrary to NJNinja, I found it to not streak at all. Could help that it was a bit diluted due to a bit of water left over on the paint after blow drying. But even afterwards, doing spot shines I didn’t notice it streaking.

Dried with my new The Gauntlet 20x30” from The Rag Company. Very much prefer this over the CarPro DHydrate I was primarily using before. Seems to dry better and feels like it glides more smoothly over the paint.

I also wanted to try out the Griot’s Correcting Cream I had just gotten. Tried it on a beat up/pitted part of the lower front bumper with a Lake Country yellow CCS pad. I didn’t really take out the pitting but the surface does feel very smooth now. I think the lower part of the front bumper is a lost cause. Will probably repaint the whole bumper at some point in the distant future.

Ended the detailing session by trying out DuraGloss 253 for the first time. Reminds me a lot of Chemical Guys Silk Shine. Silk Shine is primarily for interiors I believe though. Hoping the DG 253 lasts longer. It does have a great look.

You need to get in touch with your inner acronyms

Say TWHSHFWCATP three times real fast

When your car starts reeking in warmer weather don’t come crying to me

Lol. I can say that the TWHSHFWCATP doesn’t smell all that great… as a good wheel cleaner probably shouldn’t

Looks great! It is possible I used too much product which is why it streaked. I will say the Gyeon you can spray a lot of and won't get streaking. Both are great products. Some you just have to play around with to get the hang of.

We finally had a water softener system installed and I am VERY excited to wash the cars this weekend, gonna be nice here in Cleveland on Saturday. So far the soft water is very noticeable when taking a shower or washing dishes. No doubt the car washing experience will be improved as well. Went with a Kinetico System.

Did a little bit of detailing on this vintage DeRosa bike.......

Day off routine wash/detail. Looks like the Escape gets a wash/interior tomorrow.

Saturday...Escape was looking tired and abused. Good wash/engine/interior. Finished with BF HYDRO SEAL. Brought that 10 year old Escape right back to life.

We've had 2 weeks of solid rain, bad flooding up and down Australia's east coast, luckily not where I am, rain predicted today as well, but none yet. So it was time to give the FJ a wash, much to the confusion of my neighbours. They just don't understand removing 2 weeks of road grime and applying some protection for the next week of rain.

Cleaned the wheels with Bowden's Wheely Clean, then gave it a 2B wash with Carpro Reset, no drying aid used, just my favourite synthetic chamois, I know, I know, but it still works really well, it really just sucks the water up with no pressure, especially good for tight gaps hiding drops. I then moved inside, the sun was starting to come out, and applied some Dodo Juice Red Mist Tropical, and cleaned the glass inside and out with Angelwax Vision. I might put something on the tyres later, maybe some Autoglym Instant Tyre Dressing.

First at home wash of the 2021 season for the ES

With today's projected upper 60's I got after the ES early, it was 40 degrees at 8 a.m. so I knew today was the day. I started out adding 1 oz of Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam and 32 oz of water in my brand new Griot's Garage hose foamer. I then grabbed my wheel bucket filled with brushes and filled it with hot water. To clean the wheels Auto-Fanatic foaming wheel cleaner in my trusty smaller IK pump foamer. Finally my brand new 500 ML Kwazer filled with Alien Kleen for the wheel wells, time to clean

I started by foaming the entire ES w/ the Auto-foam and let dwell and then cleaned the wheels throughly, lots of BROWN coming out of those barrels. Next I sprayed Alien Kleen in the wheel wells, everything dwelled and time to rinse

Upon rinsing the beading was INSANE, the Auto-foam and Touchless from Bilt-Hamber usage over the past month and half has really paid dividends! My winter wheels were even beading incredibly too!! Once everything was rinsed I decided to "add some protection and gloss"

I went back in the house and grabbed my designated IK foamer filled w/ Griot's Garage Poly Gloss and Meg's HCW for the rims. I sprayed the Meg's HCW liberally on the wheels, even in the barrels and then the ES with Griot's Garage Poly Gloss and let dwell. Upon rinsing the beading was VERY small and tight, time to dry

To dry I used a combo of a large Chemical Guys drying towel, Adam's white waffle weave (just pushed the water around) and one of my Gauntlets. I also used my mini Master Blaster for the tires, wheels, wells, mirrors, grill and jams. Gauntlet took care of what was left

I stood back and admired a clean car, it had that little extra "crispness" to it and man is that paint smooth! The smooth paint has alot to do with using Bilt-Hamber Touchless and Auto-foam during the brutal winter, stuff just melted that grime. It goes to show that you CAN have a clean, daily driver in the midwest with proper commitment (some might say I need to be COMMITTED)

I'm going to add a very light coat of one of graphene tire dressings here in a little bit, want them to completely air dry. All this said, it's supposed to storm later and I don't care, it feels so good to be OUT THERE washing the car once again

Btw...get some Bilt-Hamber Touchless or Auto-foam, trust me guys

Looking good Klasse Act! It is starting to feel like spring with your pictures being shared again. It might help that it is in the 70s today and I hope I’ll get out to enjoy it for a bit but I have to watch a basketball game first.

Cleaned the car interior and seats. Still need to use my Bissell on the carpet.

Per normal I couldn't leave the ES alone

I went back outside and sprayed Adam's under carriage spray in the wheelwells, used Griot's Garage Ceramic window cleaner on the outside glass, Wenol metal polish on my exhaust tips and a light layer of TWHS spray graphene tire coating on my tires.

I then decided to spruce up the interior, didn't need it but what the hell Took out the d/s WeatherTech floorliner and sprayed Alien Kleen on it, let dwell, scrubbed and rinsed out in the bathtub. Then i wiped down the other other 2 and vac'd out the interior. I then sprayed Griot's Garage fine leather scent, re-installed the d/s WeatherTech floorliner and wiped them down with TWHS Inside Job. Since the TWHS Inside Job was out I applied it to the entire interior, sans the seats and steering wheel, that got TWHS Leather Mist.

Now I'm waiting on MadMerc as he's buying my old IK Foam 9, what a nice day today, glad I got to go for a little cruize to enjoy the weather

The Hyundai looks awesome as always klasse!

Bdubbs- the Fox interior looks super clean. Maybe I missed it, but how many miles are on it if you don’t mind me asking?

Today was spring like. My Jeep has not even been sprayed off or anything since February 7th. Today I changed that.

3D Pink soap wash through a cannon
PFM to dry
DP Need for Bead as the fk1000P is done for in spots.
Vacuum
Duragloss interior detailer.
I’ll clean the leather later with Blackfire Leather Complete.

So muddy that one of my locks was filled with mud. The door handles left my hands dirty just getting in and out every day. Sometimes I do spray some ONR Q/D ratio on the drivers handle to combat this.

This was all from daily driving and the condition of the dirt roads around here btw.

All done, not dressing the tires. They’ll get dirty anyway.

Hit the exterior glass with Invisible Glass and then reapplied Griot's Ceramic Glass Cleaner. It has been about 2 months since I had put that on and it still seemed to be working.
