What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I finished this 2002 Toyota Camry this past weekend. This thing was so thrashed I needed to gut it. I even had to vacuum the cobwebs from this cars underbody which is rare. It must’ve been sitting for a while.

This is after a thorough vacuum.

After polishing, but before wax... this pic just doesn't do it justice.

I think Vanilla ice had one of these bike's, I'm liking the old 90s shape.

It was in a Movie called "Cool as ice" i think :dblthumb2:

Added a foot rest plate to the passenger side mat, now they match

No actually, quite the opposite… It took me a whole freaking month to call the customer back and tell him it was done

3 weeks into it he had to call just to check in on me and make sure everything was ok… I explained the situation and he let me know he wasn’t in a hurry just wanted to make sure things were ok.

It’s been kinda hectic lately. I’ve been working more hours and that’s left me with less energy to detail cars. Plus not being available to detail in the mornings leaves me out in the blazing sun whenever I do have time, and even when I do have time I wind up napping or something. It’s been crazy lately.

I’ve been so busy that I detailed 1 of my good friends wifes minivan over 3 weeks ago and haven’t even bothered to contact him about paying me for the job yet!lol.

So this was a sap maintence/regain some sanity RW today, Happy 4th of July to everyone!

I used Feynlab RW for this and because it's sunny and hot out right now, 1 panel at a time and dried it immediately. The specs of sap didn't have a chance with Feynlab RW, pre-treating as always and used 350 GSM purple Eagle edgeless mf towels, 5 of them.

I used one of my designated tire/wheel mf towels to clean the tires and wheel faces and spokes, no barrels this time because it's "supposed to" rain this week and like I said earlier, had to regain some sanity from these sap specs.

As you can see the single layer of Feynlab Black Velvet Tire Coating is doing well after 3 washes of different types. I'm not saying it's the best but it's not bad either

I cleaned and treated my windshield and wipers today. I had a long drive home last night, my regular route was flooded, on unfamiliar roads in dark and rain. The wipers started chattering about 10 mins in to an hour's drive, very annoying.

I cleaned my wipers the other day with 303 Aerospace Protectant, after noticing webbing left behind. Obviously I made them too clean, there was no more webbing, but the chartering was bad, but only on the return stroke. So I wiped some graphite powder on them, then cleaned the glass with Krystal Klean, I really like the bubblegum scent, and then gave it 2 coats of Rain-X.

Went for a drive to test it out, no more chattering, and almost didn't need the wipers at all. Now if the roads re-open I might get back to work tomorrow.

Finished my wife’s expedition. It’s a 2017 with 160,000 miles so it’s not perfect by any means. Spent its entire life outside and hauls 3 kids everywhere but I try to polish it once a year with a one step system. This time I washed, clayed, Rupes yellow foam pad and cream and then graphene coated it. I think it turned out great for an older car and a weekend warrior!

^^^ so much real estate. I can't even imagine doing that. Looks great!

Thinking of stepping outside later and doing a rinseless wash in the dark.

Why not? No one will be around to bother me :)

Nothing worse than trying to concentrate when it's pissing down and you get the wiper chatter...Good to see the lock lube helped

You in Alaska? I attended junior high in Nome and high school in Fairbanks as my dad was in the Army. I was fishing one time in Nome and stepped onto this marshy small island and a gray cloud of mosquitos surrounded me. Luckily I was wearing a repellant impregnated mesh hooded sweat shirt and they stayed about 2 inches from my face but if I didn’t have that mosquito repellant shirt on, I might have been taken to the bone there were so many. Then of course there are the numerous times when small children get carried off by a flock of Alaskan mosquitos the size of hummingbirds. :)

I was pretty annoyed the last time it rained as apparently something small got under my wiper at the store and so my wipers missed a tiny section of water on the way home and it was RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SIGHT LINE. Drove me nuts. :)

It's not just me then, the rain gremlins target you as well. The webbing I got rid of, that led to the chattering seemed to only affect the wiper blade on the driver's side.

Alaska? No. Flies are so bad there though lol. A little further south in Arkansas!

Haha. They’re bad in Arkansas but they’re normal size. The mosquitos in AK are truly huge and just as aggressive. I don’t remember the flies, only the mosquitos. And the cold, the damn cold. -80 F with wind chill in Fairbanks, AK the winter before I left.

Time to rotate the spare in again, I do it every 5000km. So it's a good time to clean the wheels inside and out. They didn't need anything special, used Carpro Reset, an old Meg's lambs wool mitt, and a detail brush for the fiddly bits. Raining again tomorrow so I'm not dressing the tyres.
