What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

The hook is metal :D

Pegboard is plastic. Pretty thick. So far so good?
Hoping to get cabinets soon to clean it up, but its super convenient now and a massive upgrade form my previous setup.

May have to look at plastic pegboard. Replacing what I have in the garage is on the list of things to do. It has some warping.

Tested a new electric sprayer this weekend. Lighter than the SPTA sprayer/foamer. I used it to pretreat when doing a rinseless wash on my girlfriend's car after we went kayaking. When I was done, it showed 99% battery but it dropped to 98% when I started on my car. Still plenty of battery left.

Another convert to that model! I like mine a lot and the battery life is great. I actually bought a huge jug to mix-up my desired pre-wash so I can cover the whole car with a refill. Great alternative to the PW... especially in winter.

Did 1500 miles r/t to Yellowstone and Tetons with the family... their first time, my millionth. I forgot how crazy the bugs are through Wyoming. The one in the headlight was still trying to wiggle free after a few hundred miles...

I thought I could crank this out on a quick Monday evening that finally saw temperatures below the high 90s. I was wrong. Finally gave in and did a clay mitt due to the road debris. Finished with Sonax Spray + Seal and some PA Rapidwaxx. Used Poorboy's for the pre-soak and the wash.

Is it Friday yet?!

Birthday day off from work is a perfect day to polish and coat the pillars on the company car. My Griots GG3 with HD Polish+ and CQuartz DLux.

...

I've got a couple of the 1L tovia sprayers. I use one at work with ONR for cleaning up underhood plastics after car repairs, and one at home as a pre-soak for rinseless washing. I think they were like $20 when I got them - been good to have in the arsenal.

The sealing isn't the best, so if you knocked it over you might get water into the electronics, so I just don't get too reckless with it.

They call it a plant mister. Doesn’t have a percentage meter like yours, just 4 dots to indicate charge. I’ve barely charged either of them.

Yeah, I saw those. Both types are on sale today. The one main drawback to the 2L sprayer is it's one touch on/spray so if the button gets bumped and you don't notice it, it'll empty the contents. Otherwise, it's 1.3 lbs lighter than the SPTA.

So with the summer in full swing and prices on most everything headed north not south, I decided to add to my toolbox with my Second(2nd) FLEX "BEAST" The original is still going strong though! Now I have 1 configured for larger 6.5" pads, another for 5.5" pads and a third (XCE Model); the newer design, as a back up. I know it sounds odd the newer one is the backup but honestly, as good as it is, it's just not the same as this 3401.

Regarding the first unit I bought, I have to give a BIG shout-out to my friend Chris Metcalf of Flex North America for walking me through the maintenance on my first unit. It has been going strong for IIRC 7 years so but needed a good cleaning. I still have 50% left on the original Carbon Brushes too but I bought a set just in case. Off to buy a replacement trigger/switch tonight to keep 1-2 on hand as I may replace that next.

With the Flex 3401 Beast being discontinued, I wanted to make sure I snatched up another NEW copy as it really is one of the very best units in the industry and I've tried most of the best-rated polishers. Anyone, even weekend hobbyists, will appreciate the power and capability. They aren't cheap but they are the best! Thanks again, Chris!

Did the 2 week clean on my mum's Amarok wheels/tyres
and had some brake buster left over and did the same to dad's ute.
Tyre dressing of choice was GT tyre serum and BO tyre sheen.

With all the touchless talk, this was more of a “what you didn’t do detailing wise today.” :D

Hadn’t heard of the Auto-Fanatic Mega Gloss tire dressing so keep us informed. I’m almost out of DG 253 and will need to replace it soon.
It's really good and is a level between "used car lot" and "sheen", good stuff

Hit the touch-free wash before work, drove 1/2 mile to work and dried it off. I then did a light, unneeded coat of TWHS graphene spray tire coating on the Michilens (I didn't have the Auto-Fanatic Mega Gloss with me)

This monthly pass at the touch-free is awesome bit I'm looking forward to my next 2BM wash and full wheel

Car looks good.

The other morning at work i felt like you, the wipers were no match for the bug guts on the winshield...so all i had in the trunk was wax/grease remover and a microfiber. Took care of bug guts but sure felt like all the passing highway traffic thought i was nuts

Neighbor's Grand Cherokee finally got coated. Even with the decon done last week a wash, polish, and 2 coats of CQUK 3.0 still took a solid 4 hours.

I asked if he ever washed it by hand. He said never...a great sign. Then I asked if he did only touchless, and I almost threw up when he said he's been through a brush tunnel a few times. If that's true, then I guess we really lucked out because his paint for the most part was virtually flawless.

It looks amazing.

I bought a VacMaster Beast vacuum the other day and finally got to use it today on my ‘21 F-150. Did exceptionally well, only had to do one pass on the floor to pick up dirt, and a few small passes to pick up some light dog fur. For $85, I’m more than pleased. My floor looks cleaner than when I bought the truck.

Spent about an hour installing cquartz leather 2.0 on the wife’s Tesla front seats, door panels and center console. Realized I couldn’t do the back seats when I thought about needing them in order to do the back side of the fronts . Need to do the dash and steering wheel also but we just got back from vacation and I’m pooped! How long do y’all let this stuff dry before using the car??

Washed both the Qashqai and the FJ. Used Carpro Reset on both. Did the wheels with Car-Chen Alloy Clean, sample bottle from Tasmania, interesting stuff, doesn't have the strong smell, or the purple bleed off, but cleaned them just fine. After the wash, I ran the hose at low pressure on the Qashqai to mostly dry it, then moved it back in to the garage to dry the remaining drops with a big blue drying towel.

FJ next, it was really dirty after I doubled my distance to work this week, driving in the rain dodging closed roads due to flooding. Reset is fantastic, then coated it with 303 Touchless Sealant, dried it using Bowden's After Glow, and finally cleaned all the windows with Krystal Klean.

Finished just as the sun set.

Been lazy lately and hadn’t wash the wheels in a couple washes. Two bucket wash on them with Reset and Brake Buster.

Will RW with Pure tomorrow and add something.

I hate doing wheels. Especially on a truck. I have my system down to 3 products now - Reset for all washes/wheels, Hydro2 and Ech2o. I use all 3 to maintain Can Coat. I use Ech2o or ONR for interior as well. I like Ech2o diluted 1:20/25. The gloss it leaves behind is nice. Darkens the paint a bit too.

Tec582 goes on the Subaru.

Finally got my truck back from my sister and I must say after a month of no baths, tech choice 582 held up nicely! The water flew off the paint like the day applied it.

For the first time in years, all 3 cars are clean at the same time. I even had the wife helping me clean out her pig pen! Lol
