What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Still lots of rain around, and the roadworks still aren't finished. So I just did some interior work, while watching the V8s race around Mt Panorama, Bathurst. Go Holden! I have both driven and walked the track.

Used TWHS Inside Job on the doors, dash and console.

And to finish off, I polished my knob, I have a special cloth just for when the urge takes me, I keep it in the centre console.

Very fitting having the Commodore winning its last Bathurst, I'm sure General Motors will be proud! I mean, GM were so proud they killed the brand a few years ago. I think it's amusing how much crap Ford copped over the years for not supporting racing, yet Ford are the last one standing and the only car company to sponsor the series or teams.

Snarky comments aside, GM should be ashamed of themselves for running the Holden brand into the ground. With Holden, GM had one the most loyal customer bases in the world, and yet they poured it all down the drain by offering rubbish products and attempting to fool their customers into thinking the ZB Commodore was anything else but a middle of the road sedan made in another country, by another dumped GM brand, Opel. When the sales tanked, GM just did what was second nature to them by that stage and took the brand around the back and opened fire.

Shame on you General Motors.

And yes, Bathurst is an amazing piece of road!

100% agree, GM took subsidies from the Australian Government to keep Holden viable, then closed it anyway. These days most of the Holdens you see on the road are bogan mobiles. Anything collectible is locked away and rarely driven.

I haven't been really into the V8 Supercars for a while, the Commodores don't look like Commodores, and the Mustangs proportions are wrong, because they're based on the same underpinnings. Next year might be better, new chassis with the Camaro body on it, and hopefully the Mustang will look more right.

I once followed every single moment of V8 Supercars. This year, I gave up on it. Just not all that relevant these days, on one side its a brand and car that went out of production 3 years ago, the other so badly cut and shut to fit the control chassis that it ruined the design of the Mustang.

The next generation race cars should remedy those sticking points, especially with the new Mustang looking like the road car now -

I watched the whole race and all the little races inbertween i like all forms of car racing except F1 can't stand it!

Rally, Utes,Trucks, electric vehicle rally cross, drag, etc

I definitely watch the start and finish, but I haven't got the attention span to watch the whole thing. Since we moved a couple of years ago, I have a garage to play in, with a TV, so I can be working on one of the cars while the race is on, today was the interior of the FJ, but also rotating the tyres again, at my last service they did some sort of a random shuffle putting them back on. It may seem OCD, but I know where each tyre should be, and what its tread wear is.

I can't watch F1 either.

What is a bogan?

Bogan is the most significant word to be created in Australian English in the past 40 years. It is defined as "an uncultured and unsophisticated person; a boorish and uncouth person" in the 2016 edition of the Australian National Dictionary.

Almost, just even dumber! And they mostly sport this terrible hair style...............

You can simply guess the level of intellect here, spending their money on tattoo's, beer and cigarettes rather than bettering their lives. I don't get it.

I can't stand that hairstyle. It's become very popular over the last couple of years, I have no idea why otherwise handsome guys make themselves look like a bogan on purpose. GET A HAIRCUT FOR CHRIST SAKE!

I was the same, hate F1 but once liked most forms of motorsport. I also once took the weekend off for Bathurst. The top 10 shootout the single best moment of Australian motorsport of the year, which was sadly cancelled due to rain this year. I would sit in front of the TV for all day watching the race, the only day of the year I would do something like that.

Once Penske left and took the star driver with him, it all became one sided again and I lost interest. I watched the end of the race this year, the most I have watched of the sport all year.

If you have time, may I suggest another route to enjoy while you’re down there? Dragons Tail is hwy 129, if you stay on hwy 129 and come out to hwy 74 on the NC side, turn right on 74 and follow that to Cleveland TN. It’s not as thrilling as 129, but you will follow a river that widens up, and that was the host of the 1996 Olympics for the water rafting. It’s extremely beautiful down there and there are some spots you can pull off and walk a trail or two.

Either way, hope you enjoy your time! Be safe!
