What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I've been washing her cars since the 80s, the first one I remember trying to polish was an 83 VH Commodore wagon, faded light metallic blue paint, no clear coat. I attacked it with Kitten cream cut & polish. Something like in the picture below, but without the foam pad. I can't remember what cloth I was using, maybe Terry towelling, or that open weave cloth, all done by hand. My shoulders were sore for days.

I've been doing it since 2008 late to the party, I was always into other things collecting knives, or shooting liked a clean car of course but life has a way of changing you and
living with OCD for the best part of over 20 year's has shaped my life for good and bad
sometimes but that's a story within itself

Big Dave....I remember those days, you would rub so hard that the car would rock back and forth and you could hear the suspension squeak..:D

Especially if you used too much product or let it sit too long on the surface. As a teenager, I would stand on a step stool to get more leverage. It was a good workout for the abs as well.

OUTSTANDING weather in PA this weekend. Saturday was a normal maintenance wash on the truck. Finished with TWFW as a rinse wax.

The X-inlaws came by to see their grand daughter today and before we went out for lunch I offered to run their car, a 2016 Sonata Sport, through my favorite touch-free wash. The Car was dirty, so I grabbed my bottle of Bilt-Hamber Korrosol for the rims, Gyeon Tire cleaner mixed with some Bilt-Hamber Surfex and Alien Kleen for the windows (no washer fluid in the tanks here lately)

So upon taking it through my ex-mother in law proceeds to tell me she's NEVER ever taken a car through a carwash, I was looking for Ashton at this point

The car came out "ok" but the lower surfaces has "dirt shadows" so when we got back to my place I proceeded to do a N914 WW to the entire car and apply some Hydrosilex tire dressing.

Poor car needs a PDR guy and entire paint correction, not to mention 4 wheels refurbished

I headed home from the Mother in laws after doing 4 cars Fri/Sat...lot O work!

I couldn't help myself to put one more coat of Meg's hybrid on the Kia before driving home....I mean I had too right....:xyxthumbs::buffing:

All I did on the 3 hour turnpike ride home is look at every car that passed me and said....trashed paint....trashed paint....trashed paint....:D

I find myself subconsciously sizing up the paint and formulating a correcting plan when I am looking at cars around me at traffic lights, etc…

I need help…

I’m waiting in the parking lot for my daughter to get out of work and the truck just down from me is a nice blue Ford Ranger but has a bunch of bird #### running down the side. I was thinking it wouldn’t take me long to make that vehicle look good and I even have rinseless in the trunk from traveling out of town for work.

I can see the headlines now…

Took the weekend to wash, clay, polish and wax (seal) my truck and wash and seal my wife’s MDX. I used the Wolfgang SiO2 Paint Sealant that I bought about 7 months ago and was really impressed with how easy it went on and off. Only thing I didn’t like was getting it out of my waxing Lake Country pad - I just gave up and threw it away. Bought some microfiber applicators to put it on my wife’s car. It did make the paint on my truck a mile deep and made the metallic pop on my wife’s MDX.

Yesterday I cleaned all the leather surfaces in my wife’s SUV with a griot’s leather wipe. Noticed it’s starting to show some wear (it’s a 2014) so I’m thinking what I might do to make it last longer. Maybe a coating for the leather?

I'm trying to get some help with the artwork for my icon and i got in touch with an artist who is willing to work in trade :)

I need an icon, so I can have my logo designed, I need a logo designed because I need something cool to put on a business card, I need business cards because people ask for them an I don't have any yet...I'm still pretty new :)

company name is 'Big Love Detailing', i'll get pics when it's done, but imagine a big bearded guy with sunglasses and a cheesy smile hugging and holding a vtwin engine...it's in my head now, but i'll figure out how to make it happen

I odered some Feynlab Pure Wash (also have Rinseless on hand). Almost out of Reset so I figured I'd give this one a shot. It's less expensive than Reset.

Gave the Qashqai a coating of NV Lustre tonight, I was bored. I was curious to see if it bonded to the TWHS Wet Wax, it applied easily with no streaking. The Wet Wax beads up OK, but Lustre was better. Maybe I'll do a half and half on the FJs hood this weekend, as it seems to get rained on daily at the moment. Question is, what should I use on the other half?

Been a while!

1 - Turtle Wax Hyper Foam Wheel Cleaner on tires/wheels
2 - Brake Buster on tires/wheels after that! Yeah, I know!!
3 - ONR wash
4 - Meg's UQW
5 - Meg's Hot Shine tire spray. Yeah, I know!!

Foamed Camaro with BH AutoFoam. Bucket washed with CP Descale. Then did a rinsless with Feynlab Pure.

My version of an ABC wash.

Wanted to break open the Nova twins (jet and Lustre) but just did the old fall back of Kami OverCoat and Polish Angel Cosmic.
