What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Btw I just realized I hadn’t mentioned this but 1 last thing about that 2008 Lincoln Limousine. That car only had 7,000 original miles!! I think that’s insane.

It’s still riding on the original tires. Date code from 2008.

Owner said he paid 30k for it.

A few months ago that same guy brought me a 2005 Cadillac Deville with only 38,000 original miles. [this was a base Deville, so it had the digital dash]

This Cadillac arrived in 8/10 condition and looked like brand new when I was done with it. A true creampuff survivor. 10/10 condition.

Looks like your old Caddy Ric, glad that car saved your life

1st time I’ve ever had to deal with spoiled milk interior and let me tell you, it’s on a whole nother level. Nearly an entire gallon of it had spilled into the passenger side of this little Ford and it stank like rotten hell.

-LA’s Totally Awesome
-2 different Bissell stain & odor chemicals
-Bissell extractor
-sodium bicarbonate
-Meguiars APC
-Ridgid vac
-Steam cleaner
-Meguiars Air Refresher

In the end I was able to eliminate 90-95% of the smell. Customer was happy.
I deep cleaned the seats and fully rinsed them with the hose while they were out and sun dried them.

And just to top it off the car was full of dog hair too. Lol. This is the only pic I got of it but the whole thing was covered in it.

Maintenance wash under some angry skies

Pretreated with BH Auto Foam from my IK foamer, rinsed and foamed with Hyper Wash, single bucket multi mitt wash with Hyper Wash, 90% dried and then final wipe down with 3D Bead It Up

Ran the EN through the touch-free wash before work, pretty cool this morning (50 degrees), it's THAT time of the year starting

Ric, you need to use an enzyme to get rid of the odor.

Great picture! Love the vivid blue of the car, white of the foam, green of the grass and the angry clouds as you mention. With some red on the towel and trees for contrast.

Side note, how’ve things been at the new house?

They have been good, thanks for asking...

I am enjoying the garage and the driveway finally got paved about 3 weeks ago so that's a real plus

Opie checked on me a while back because I had been off the forum for so long and I will tell you what I told him

I got a VERY mean PM last spring from a fairly new member who went off on me for...

1) hogging the "what did you do today regarding non-detailing" thread (as if that's possible)

2) showing off and bragging about my new house in the above mentioned thread

3) saying something negative about Mike Phillips

I was absolutely floored to be attacked like that by someone I don't know and had never even had harsh words with

I wasn't going to dignify the idiot with a response and I simply deleted the PM and chalked it up to experience

But

It came at a time when there was also a LOT of political rancor on the forum and both together just caused me to take a self imposed time out

I enjoy the forum 99% of the time and normally have a pretty thick skin but it was just too much

I really appreciated Opie reaching out to me and I appreciate you asking about the house

I am trying to ease back in to the forum but I am still a bit gun shy

Don't let it get to you..that would mean that he wins. Remember Mikey, this is the internet.

I liked the posts on your new house, how often does someone get to do what you were doing. You're allowed to be excited about something like that. And it's not like you were posting about how perfect everything was going.

Being jealous can be embarrassing, why it was done in private I suppose.

Sounds like one of those from the Facebook group found their way into the forum... you really couldn't have two more different worlds across AGO.

I'll even go so far as to say you can find pretty bad info on the Facebook group if not careful.

Hope to see more posts from you - it was good to see you drop back in again!

Thank you for the kind words

I don’t do Facebook and didn’t even know there was another AG group in there

There is a core group of guys on here I like and respect and as long as they are ok with me I am not going to worry about anyone else
