What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Getting my g/f's Cruze washed right now, the Griot's Garage spray ceramic is holding up great so far

Received my gallon of ADS Hero yesterday so set out to RW today with ADS Hero and Amplify. I think it's a winning combo like the DIY RW + Ceramic Gloss combo. Hero leaves nothing behind and cleans well. It's very versatile (RW, WW, Clay lube), cleaned up great and paired very well with Amplify to wipe. I did the usual to Presoak with it as well.

It uses Si02 but it doesn't leave protection behind. I used it indoors (hot garage) and did let some of it dry before wiping. It cleaned right up when wiped. No streaking anywhere I could find. The only streaking was actually from me trying to use up my PA White Carnuaba Arts spray to finish it all off (overkill).

I think Hero will rank highly for many once it is more readily available. It has a lot of hype behind it right now since it's so new but certainly is a solid RW as far as I can tell.

It's been 3 months since I applied NV Lustre and Jet to the FJ, I put a reminder in my calendar to remind me to check it over. So I gave it a wash with Reset, it wasn't real dirty but I wanted to check the water behaviour. In a word, excellent. It has been washed a few times, and I've topped it up with Boost V2 or Carpro Ech2o as drying aids each time, but the FJ has stayed remarkably clean given all the rain we've had.

After washing I moved it inside to dry it, then I topped it again with Boost V2. The wheels still look good with TWHS Graphene Infused Max Wax, so I decided to apply some of that to the powder coated bull bar as well.

Check out the reflection off the white roof, also the white paint on the roof actually feels slicker than the silver.

Basic detail/1st time inside outside glorified wash on this new Mercedes Benz E350 this past weekend. Only 12,000 miles on the odometer. It’s remarkable how Easy this new paint was to wash.

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have the dealer installed paint protection based on the lack of any real noticeable beading and moderate bonded contaminants on the paint… It’ll be getting the full treatment soon.

How do you clean the mirrors on those things, when they are folded up like that? Or do they only fold when you lock the car (vs. just turning it off)?

Funny you ask, they kept unfolding everytime I got near them! Lol.

It’s like the car had a brain and knew there was a possibility I was about to wash them. Kinda creepy how accurate it was with that.

Not when I walked by, only when the mitt got near them. I have no idea how, but yea…

Any folding mirror cars I've ever owned it can be solved by sticking the FOB far away (hidden in my house). I still can't figure out why the wife's Volvo will choose when and when not to randomly fold them up on me. It's always startling the first time...

Even worse are the kick tailgates that 99% of the time never work when needed... but work 100% of the time while cleaning.

The new car did some weird opening and closing stuff when I was washing and I knew I had the fob stashed inside

Then I remembered I had programmed my iPhone to act as a fob as well and it was right next to the car, blue toothed to my speakers for car washing tunes

Decided to do a mid-week clean & boost (pardon the pun)

I started with the tires & wheels, Brake Buster AND Gyeon Tire cleaner and I've gotta get a good scrubbing in of the tires more often with THIS product! Now Brake Buster is a great maintence product but nothing beats a designated, high quality tire clean, I've got Gyeon Tire cleaner AND CarPro Retyre, it's a coin toss IMO

I let Gyeon Tire cleaner dwell while Brake Buster broke down it's grit and when I started scrubbing the tire the browning mixed with the Brake Buster and when done...TOTAL CLEAN

I then moved onto the wash, a foam gun touch-free was all that was needed. I mixed in 3 oz of Griot's Garage Foaming Surface prep & 2 oz of Griot's Garage Brillant Shine snow foam and I liked the results! I let it dwell, rinsed away and then free flow to finish

Now while it was wet I decided on a drying aid I hadn't used in a while, a problem when you've got SO MANY (1st world problems). I reached for DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss and DAYM, it's name couldn't be better, maybe add S L I C K in there somewhere as well

I finished with engine bay wipedown, interior vac and Griot's Garage Stinky Be Gone JDM squash...PROUD

My IK Multi Pro 12 arrived and got it set up with my homeboy hookup method.

My wife’s bday is coming up and I have been thinking of what to get the woman that has everything. After ending up on a Reddit several women commented that they loved it when their husbands got their cars detailed so I decided to get my wife’s SUV professionally detailed. To my chagrin, she was not thrilled with the gift. Apparently, it doesn’t qualify as a gift when the professional happens to be her husband that already details for her vehicle on a weekly basis. Go figure.

I used the Multi Pro to do a rinseless on the exterior to try it out. I much prefer it over the old Ryobi battery sprayer I had been using. The water stream is more powerful and does a much better pre-rinse. I do prefer using a foam cannon to wash but sometimes a quick 25 minute wash in the comfort of my garage with no equipment to put away is the way to go.

Let us know how the "homeboy" did, I've got that "hook up" too, it's "dope"

Zero complaints. Saved me $80 over getting the IK battery pack. Filled it to 50 PSI and had plenty of air pressure to get around the SUV in a couple of minutes and did a much better pre-rinse that my previous set up. The tires weren’t dirty so I’ll use it again when the tires need a good scrubbing. I want to see if it has enough pressure to thoroughly rinse some Brake Buster off.

See I set mine to about 44 psi and when it's close to 40 psi I start spraying but don't turn it off, this way the psi stays up there a bit

Btw while I washing/boosting the EN I was listening to Led Zeppelin "The Song Remains the Same" motion movie soundtrack, enhanced my experience this evening, especially when "No Quarter" came on

I have used it and it's actually comparable to TWHS Wet Wax. You basically spray it on a wet car, wipe in with one towel and then buff dry. It's actually a great drying aid, you'll love using it

So when I last left you, the EN was clean and boosted...apparently Mother Nature wanted to test the DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss, it rained over night but was dry going to work

I could see a layer of film/dust, so a RW was ordered up. I went over the menu and chose Griot's Garage Brillant Shine rinseless wash because of its PURE cleaning ability

I went with the GD method to make quick work of the light grit and damn did it dry EASY after each swipe, the advantage of a fresh LSP

I damped a spare mf towel and wiped down the tires and wheel faces and spokes...just because

Thanks, im not a drying aid guy though so ill skip this one. I dont like using anything with my good drying towels. If i apply anything its always after my rinseless wash is completed
