What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Eldo, what was that, one of those Thursday night things at Meguiar's? They are still doing them?

Her car is washed like twice a week and I don't always use Bilt-Hamber Touchless or Auto-foam for it's pre-wash. That said, I've never worried about dulling the paint one bit. I put toppers on her car from time and it's base protection is usually something like Griot's Garage 3 in 1 spray ceramic and Nv Jet/Lustre, seems to be holding up pretty well

Washed the truck after a 4k mile cross country trip. Roof is flat so I'm thinking it is clogged. BH Touchless and Reset did not revive it. There was some smokey areas out there so my guess is it's clogged. I don't have Descale on hand so I couldn't use it. I ordered some and should have it by tomorrow. Ech20 once again came through. Put a gallon of Ech20 diluted 1:30 in a bucket and wiped down interior, engine bay and parts of the frame/metal. Cleaned up great.

Descale is great but I think Bilt-Hamber has a stronger pH, surprised it didn't work

Have you ever tried Restart

GOOD GRIEF. 48.5 HOUR WEEK. Hit the driveway 5:30 am for some detail therapy. Maintenace wash on the truck. Finished with flex wax as a rinse wax and tires got Griots ceramic tire shine this time around.

I've never tried Restart. I'm going to wash it with Descale tomorrow. I really curious if that will revive it.
 
I had a couple of bird bombs and some water run marks under the door handles and mirrors, it's rained the last two nights, so I gave the paint a QD with Ech2o and it's all good again.

last night i did a quick RW wash. we walked the dogs after i was done. when we got back i quickly applied some Griot's ceramic speed shine. it was getting dark but checking the car today, i didn't notice any spotting or anything.

Engine bay clean up for the Qashqai, Ech2o for the painted bits and the underside of the hood, Perl for the plastics. It's only ever dusty, nothing like the mud that mysteriously appears in the FJs engine bay.

You may be asking yourself why I am posting a pic of my lawn in a detailing forum. Well, this is the result of my neighbor’s lawn car company going over into my lawn and scalping my exquisitely maintained Bermuda grass. You would think that after I spoke with the owner and expressed my displeasure with his crew’s shoddy work, he would make sure the rest of the time his crew was working they would make ensure that no further damage came to my property. Wrong. The wonderful worker with the backpack blower proceeded to blow debris all over the place that coated my car. Between the debris and some kind of film that was on my car, the coating wasn’t quite coating anymore so a quick blast of Auto Foam had the car beading up beautifully again. I followed up with Reset and topped off with Cure just to add a layer of protection and all is well in the world again.





 
Hey! I’ve been having a similar issue with my lawn forever! My neighbor’s lawn guy has to ride over part of my front lawn to reach the rest of his and he often mows into mine while doing so. I mow my own lawn too and hate the feeling because it’s my work that is being tampered with.Eventually this will stop and I’m incredibly glad my cars are always garaged it’s just a situation largely due to the configuration of my property and the fact that I, like many of us guys here, care about and take pride in our work. It extends beyond our cars. Optimus and I need to be in the Get Off My Lawn Club

Here’s some more BS I had to deal with. After washing my car I did some spot spraying for weeds. When I got to my backyard the crew that mowed the house behind mine, the owner lets his grass grow to 8+ inches, side discharged well over 6 feet into my lawn and didn’t have the decency to clean it up.

You’re right though. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about cars or lawns. People don’t give a damn about their property and in return couldn’t care less if they ruin someone else’s.


 
I know these are first world problems and I have the same issue with lawn clippings in the summer from my neighbor. I always rake them away

I have an issue with my mail carrier too. Man, all this flared up this year. I am dealing but sometimes I gotta vent.

After my Dad retired from being a lifer in the Marine Corps he had more time to putter around the house. He noticed the back fence was bending in on one segment and would attempt to restore it but couldn't figure out the cause. Then one day he was home and the dog was barking and he looked out and saw the gas company meter reader climbing over the fence. Most of the meters were in the back yards of the houses, most of which were fenced in, so it was easier for the guy to just climb over each fence vs entering and exiting the gates which obviously would have added a lot of time for him.

So my dad approached him and asked him to please stop climbing over HIS fence and pointed out the damage it was causing. Guy said "sure, sure" but . . . next month rolled around and he was doing it again. This time my dad went out with our dog (a boxer, Samson) on a leash and reminded him that he had agreed he wouldn't be climbing the fence but yet here he was. Guy apologized and said he forgot and it wouldn't happen again. Dad then took the opportunity to let him know that it was common for us to just have the dog out in the yard and he had maybe just been lucky so far so PLEASE knock and use the gate. OK.

Next month came and now Dad was waiting. Saw the guy several houses down climbing from yard to yard. Waited until he was scaling our fence and opened the back door and let Samson out and closed the door. Now our dog never bit anyone in his life but he sure could put the fear of God into people and that meter reader got added to the list that day. Never pulled that crap again. It wasn't the fence that was really the issue, it was the principle of not respecting other people's stuff. Also I think Dad was really bored after he retired so he kind of looked for things to do. :D

I pulled in and vacuumed and wiped the front area down with Adam’s Total Interior Cleaner

I’m really getting to like that stuff
