What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

More like physically and mentally exhausted. Had to do the truck to remind me I am still sane! But VACATION week starts the week of the 18th! Whew.

Another weekend spent resurrecting one of my BIL’s auction finds. I have no idea the condition of the car when it was bought but coming from an auction I’m sure it was less than pristine. In addition to what was already baked into the paint at the time of purchase, there was over a year’s worth of grime and other contaminants and I had to also remove PPF from the front bumper that was left out of the vehicle’s description when I asked about the condition. Outside of the mystery substance that etched through the PPF and into the front bumper paint, it came out great and now I’m taking a much needed vacation from working on other people’s cars.

There was just a tiny bit of embedded iron

A little wheel porn for you guys that like it extra dirty. Both me and the owner thought that the wheels were a light bronze color but they were actually a nice gunmetal gray once cleaned.

All of this just from the windshield

Finished up belair today. Its gettin repainted this winter anyway so its cleaned up till then.flex rotary,lc purple foamed wool pad and 3d510 on the hood. Then Supa beast,3d 505 and lc force orange pads on the whole car.

Amazing work.

A bit of sad news… I found out that the owner of the car who’s in the 1st post of this thread has passed away in a car accident…

I only met him once [he was referred by a good friend of mine] but he was super nice and grateful too. RIP.

To get ready for a car meet up this evening I did a RW on the EN, today's choice was Griot's Garage Ceramic Rinseless Wash, yes, I have a problem with sooooo many choices

It's been a minute since using it and like someone stated in the RW thread, there's so many great products out there and you can't go wrong, it applies here for sure

I moved around the EN and the Gauntlet towel dried it to a flawless finish, couldn't be happier, I'm also happy because THIS time my car looks good for the show, not smeared up

I didn't touch a car but I spent some time and mixed up and topped off several of my often used spray bottles, Perl at 3:1 and 5:1, Megs HCW at 3:1 for spritzing wheels, P&S Express at 1:1, made up a couple of gallons of ONR V5 at 128:1 for my pump up RW pre-sprayer and my jambs spray bottle

Did a large load of mitts, towels, etc and went through them one by one because the first one I grabbed to fold had a piece of something stuck in it

Luckily I didn't find anything else to they all got put in their appropriate bins

I changed the bag filter on my Rigid vacuum

When I’ve got some down time and I have nothing to do I’ll do the same. I’ll top off all my bottles and rearrange my detailing shelves and reorganize everything. That little corner of my garbage is my new happy place.

I'm hoping you meant garage, but you did make me laugh. I'm not getting any detailing done at the moment, we've had occasional rain every day for the last week, not too much, but enough to make it a waste of time. Maybe I'll get my fix by watching some videos.

Never heard of it, but I was curious.

It seems I'm not welcome.

Must be that, because that link did the same thing. I'll look it up next time I'm at my nephew's place. He runs a VPN, so it won't know where I am. It was only out of curiosity, they probably don't ship here anyway.

It turns out I had already created an account with these people but hadn't bought anything

I put $108 of random stuff, all marked as "ships free" in the cart, went to check out, and of course, Alaska does not qualify for free shipping

I had 3 shipping options starting at $24 for ground to almost $100 for faster service

Now I know why I hadn't bought anything

Their free shipping offer also has some fine print regarding the people who join their "club" so you should probably check that out before you pull the trigger on a membership

It may still be a bang up deal for you people in America
